No more batteries
Ordered after replacing the batteries about 3 times in my wireless mouse pad. It works great. Sometimes I have it plugged in, sometimes not.

Really good, but stops charging periodically
I really like this product, and it would be 5-stars from me if it wasn't for one small thing: The power bar seems to stop charging periodically, eventually draining to the point where the track-pad stops working. If I unplug and re-plug the USB cable from the power bar, it begins working again immediately, but this seems like something that shouldn't happen.

works great also with bluetooth keyboard
I was first looking at the Magic Bar by Mobee. Since I have both the apple magc trackpad and bluetooth keyboard, I would have had to purchase an extra battery pack for one and only charge one at a time. I then read a review that said a more cost effective route would be to just get 2 of these power bars. I am glad I did. Even though this is not advertised for the keyboard, I can confirm it works just as well for the keyboard as for the trackpad and there is less clutter on the desk with the lack of the magic bar which seems to just add unnecessary bulk.

Questionable!
A product review speaks equally about the product, the user, the user's history and most importantly, the user's expectations. To be accurate and just, I must address everything. Amazon, in a strange way, you are nothing more than a pipeline. Therefore, I will address your service first. As far as shipping, placing and the retail end of this picture, as always, you have provided the best possible service. You presented the product in the best possible light and followed the major talking points about this product. There is a point where I must become transparent. I am a 64 year old male Disabled American Veteran. I use a 2010 iMac with both simple Apple Mouse, using a overdid USB connection. It was my impression that this Mobee Technology Power Bar would have the ability to be used whenever I needed it I know that I would be working through a Bluetooth connection. I went out through Amazon and bought a new Apple Magic Trackpad through which I could learn the different gestures. Being disabled, I spend a great deal of time on my computer. The sad thing is this product cannot maintain connection for long periods of time. I tend to believe their whole product line has the same issues. I believe that I would NOT suggest this product to someone in my situation. If I were to use this trackpad with this power bar, instead of my wired mouse, I would be very angry. I believe Apple should leave the option open for the use of the Apple USB Mouse and the extended corded keyboard available at the time of purchase, I mean actually just swap them out, For the Apple iMac 2012. At best, the usable time with this Apple Trackpad is intermittent, at best. There is a place in the market for this type of product, but not for me.

Love it and it has been working flawlessly with my magic trackpad. I just leave it plugged in all the time as my trackpad stays put. Luckily I bought one of the new type small keyboards without the number pad when they first came out so I have a wired one. It doesn't travel that far either. Thanks to the Mobee one can be battery free which is a big advantage particularly as the keyboard is much lighter in the lap when it doesn't use batteries.

Short battery life, excessive packaging.
While this does power my Apple bluetooth keyboard, the battery life is extremely short, to the extent that I often leave the charging cord plugged in. I've been through about five battery cycles but still after a day or so the indicated battery condition is down to about 25%. It's not kidding either, I've had the battery fail on me. Given that the lithium AA batteries this has replaced will last months of continuous use, I'm disappointed in its performance. It's grossly over-packaged. 90% of the volume and well over 50% of the weight of the box I received was packaging. This is a battery, it's not exactly fragile. The box had all sorts of moulded compartments and felt lining, it looked expensive and wasteful to make.Other than that, it performs as advertised. It's a low-capacity rechargeable battery for your keyboard or trackpad.UPDATE: May 2013. Six months of this lousy battery has been enough. It can *just* run an Apple wireless keyboard for about 8 hours, something a couple of lithium AAs can do for six months. I still have to leave the USB cable plugged in for fear the battery will run down. Sticking with the 2 stars just to avoid being lumped in with the "This is the worst _________ I've ever seen I wish I could give it zero stars" crowd. A very poor product.

Love this product
I have three Magic Trackpads. I tried this for one and loved it, so I bought two more. Two of my trackpads are on desks all the time, so I just keep them plugged in and never have to worry about changing batteries or recharging. One of the Power Bars was defective on arrival (only put out 1.4 volts). Mobee was GREAT about replacing it promptly. They took the info via email, responded quickly and didn't require the defective one to be returned to them. I had the replacement in a very few days.

Great idea, just doesn't work very well
The concept is great. Not as great as a non-Bluetooth, wired version of the Magic Trackpad would be, but Apple doesn't seem to be obliging us there, so this will have to do.Unfortunately, I have yet to find a USB port capable of meeting its power needs. Even out a hub that seems to give full power across all ports, it's only a matter of days before the power level of this thing is reported as 58%, 49%, 8%... That's not with it acting as a disconnected, rechargeable battery replacement -- it's with it still plugged in, with its little green LED showing a solid and steady green ("fully charged"). Eventually, this requires it to be removed from the Magic Trackpad and charged externally via an iPhone or iPad AC adapter to juice it up enough to be recognized as fully charged by the Mac.As a maintenance-free, set-it-up-and-forget it alternative to constantly recharging and swapping in fresh batteries, this product is a failure.

Convenient but pricey
Firstly, this item is very over packaged. Fine for a shelf in the Apple store trying to look good, but not great for an online purchase. It's quite light and I wondered just how long the battery would last. In practice though, it's actually quite good.I like the convenience of just plugging it for a few hours and enjoying cordless trackpad use for many hours (weeks) in between. However, for the same price you can but a Apple battery pack with 6 batteries that will power a keyboard and trackpad with a spare set for the same price. So that's two devices covered, when this will do only one albeit more conveniently. If you have one Mac that's nearly Β£50 - so quite a lot of batteries to break even. If you more than one then it gets pretty expensive!I can''t help but think this would make a good candidate for Amazon frustration free packaging for a 1/3 price drop.

No Batteries, No Problems
I use a trackpad in work, so it's in constant use all day every day. I got sick of replacing batteries, watching the percentage drain and waiting until they finally die before changing them. This little device simply slots in to where the batteries where. Charge it via the USB cable and you're all set. No more battery replacements.I read one review where someone went on a rant about this not being a wireless device... it's only wired when charging, you don't have to keep it plugged in. Saying that, I do tend to keep mine plugged into the usb, not because the battery doesn't last long enough. It's just as easy to keep it plugged in to the keyboard's usb output, and its neat enough.

Love this thing
Love this thing, means I don't need to keep replacing the batteries, and it fits in nicely. It lasts for plenty of time (never kept track, but certainly weeks at a time, maybe over a month even). Of course it won't be needed if I ever get the new model of the magic pad, but for this one it works great. I do notice that it'll never show as being 100% charged on my mac, but still lasts for a long time, so not bothered about that.

Better than batteries
The first set of batteries that came with my trackpad lasted around 4-5 months and whilst this battery pack is convenient, it would be a 5 if it had more longevity - it has lasted less than 4 weeks. I don't mind leaving it plugged in but I expected it to have lasted at least half as long. Still... better than having to have a constant supply of batteries on standby,

Great Product - no more batteries
Once I learnt to remember to plug the trackpad in and recharge it with the Mobee Power Bar installed I have a battery free life. No running out of batteries and no 'mouse' pointer. All a seamless part of my desk life.
