Review "Steeped in rock history, infused with power and passion, and laced with psychological horror and razor-sharp tension, this is not an easy read, but a memorable one."--Publishers Weekly About the Author ROBERT McCAMMON is a New York Times bestseller best known for Swan Song and Boy's Life, both still in print after two decades. He is a frequent nominee and winner of the Bram Stoker Award and has won several World Fantasy Awards. McCammon resides in Birmingham, Alabama.

disappointing
I don't usually leave reviews but felt compelled to do so with this book. After reading many other books by Robert Mccammon, this was one of the few remaining left to read. My husband read it before I did, and being a rock fan thought he would enjoy it, however, he abandoned it after a quarter of the way through. Undeterred, I read it to the end, all the time hoping it would impove. To my utter disappointment it did not. I found it extremely tedious at times and so boring and repetetive that i skipped many pages. I found the level of detail over the top and irrelevant, and although the plot was ok, the writing style was quite different to the author's other books. I hate abandoning a book part-way through but, regretfully, sincerely wish I had on this occasion.

A fresh approach..
McCammon moves into somewhat different territory with this contemporary story. Following a 'botched' TV interview, the band of the title are stalked and terrorised by a suicidal disenchanted war veteran. Although this sounds somewhat predictable and formulaic, the charachterisation and tension make this an excellent addition to the authors repertoire.

Five out of five.
Robert McCammon back to what he does the best. In the top bracket with King and Straub Excellent characterisation supports a superb storyline.

You can hear the music in the words
Insightful and well written, from start to finish you feel like part of the band or maybe just a spider clinging on to the scumbuckets wing mirror watching the story unfold and never wanting the ride to stop.
