The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin

Wisdom From the Man on the One Hundred Dollar Bill
One thing that truly amazes me is the power that lies on the path to discovery, especially when it comes to books! "The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin," by Benjamin Franklin, came to me by way of reading about it in "Think and Grow Rich," by Napoleon Hill, by way of reading about that book in "The Monk Who Sold his Ferrari," by Robin S. Sharma, which was a recommendation of required reading of sorts on a video on Alux.com's YouTube channel, I happened to watch last fall. Each of these have been amazing reads that lived up to their hype, as I was recommended them on numerous occasions and have lead to me stumbling upon this book! This autobiography by Benjamin Franklin has been a true gem of a find and surprisingly good read. I haven't heard it being necessary outside of my 8th Grade science teacher's reference to it a few times throughout that school year. Here's what I love most about this book: Benjamin Franklin's voice. I love the observations he makes and how they are practical and humorous bits of wisdom that still apply today. I love his variety of professions that he lived and his work ethic and discipline in his application of money. Also, I love the almost eerie way the cover, Big Ben’s eyes happen to follow you kind of looking like "Really?"...it reminds me in a way of the Mona Lisa. This book is a decent read at just over a hundred pages, however each page is jammed with text--no page breaks or white space. The quality of the actual book, however leaves much to be desired, though it is readable. Also, the spine of the book is blank no title or author, leaving it to be one of t-h-o-s-e books on the bookshelf. My copy happened to get wet on a rainy day and there was no going back from there. Overall, I'd say it's worth a purchase as the quality of the content surpasses the less-than quality of the book and is in this case and my opinion, worth more than the money you pay for it, overall lending value. Mainly, Benjamin Franklin’s anecdotal wisdom relating to money and work and discipline, and the way in which he uses his voice are my recommendations for reading this book.

Great book. Rising from obscurity to honor.
To know the history of a very likely relation, and to know my own self.

Very interesting read.
While it doesn't cover some of the most exceptional things Franklin did in his later years it is a very good view of life in Franklins' early years.

Great book, bad format
The format of this book is very poor. I ended up getting a vintage edition of the book because I loved the autobiography, but really disliked the format.

Good read for anyone
I wish I would read this when I were younger. It's very good look into life in the 17 hundreds. Mr Franklin also reflects on the way virtue or lack of effected the various interprises of his associates and himself. Also a very easy read by a great story teller.

very interesting!
The book is very literary. English is outdated in this book, but Benjamin Franklin can still teach you how to write a story beautifully. However, every paragraph is almost a whole page, and it can be confusing where I am at a paragraph as I am reading.

Readability
This printing of Franklin's autobiography has extremely small print. Since I am mailing 20 copies for my annual book gift, I chose another edition.

Classic rendered poorly
Content can’t be faulted, it’s like being in the room with the man himself. This is a very cheap printing however which would have infuriated Franklin, blank spine and rough cut to the page. Get what you pay for. If you’re a student and have to read this it works.

Nasty almost unusable product
This turned out to be what looked like a POD copy in minute print, too unpleasant to read. Rubbish. I have returned it - but I won't get my money back because they make you pay for postage.

An inspiring read.
This book was sometimes fiddly to read due to the old language and different spelling, but it was interesting as expected.
