Unfortunately I had a similar experience as the reviewer who posted as picture of the dead spot from the top to the bottom of the tablet on the left-of-center side when held vertically.The dead spots can be worked around by changing between portrait and landscape most times, but if you have games or other apps that lock the orientation then it could be a problem. I did find that if I pressed hard enough in the dead space that it would pick up my touch, but you do have to press against the glass harder than should be expected. I am a very "light toucher" when it comes to tablets and phones...so pressing down hard enough to have it register is a big change for me...it's also discomforting as you can see the lcd begin to change colors like they do when you press on them.The replacement screen was easy to install, it fit the bezel well and it hooked up nicely. There are a couple of bright spots on the edge of the lcd itself but they aren't noticeable under normal usage (unless the screen is all black like during start up).Another annoyance was that the plastic cover that comes on the screen when shipped left behind hard-to-remove adhesive residue. I remember when first getting my tablet how smooth and slick the screen feels...this is the smooth but tacky. I assume eventually that will wear off with use.Bottom line: This will work to replace a cracked digitizer and it will breath new life into your tablet if it is unusable from being cracked, but don't expect it to be like new, because it won't be with this replacement.

The screen works fine. This is a major plus.3 weeks later, still fine.Touch sensitivity feels a little worse than OEM. But maybe I am imagining it. Hard to say.I've used this touch test app to confirm that touch works on all screen areas.[...]The screen didn't come with any tools, adhesive or instructions, just the item in lots of bubble wrap.On one hand, the description didn't promise any of those so no hard feelings.On the other hand you need either to have those or buy separately. Easily to crack works as original but needs a little extra care

Got this thing installed, workd just like it should. My advice to others replacing their assembly is to make sure you look further into the adhesive used to mount it to your tablet. I purchased a spool of tape that worked alrigth but the assembly started to detach from the device after a while and I had to reapply it. It's possibly my fault for not doing a good enough job in cleaning the area I was placing it in. but, look it up and do it the right way so you don't have to apply again an again.

I am pleased with the appearance of this screen and the lcd. My main problem is that there are two unacceptable dead strips in the digitizer. This of course means there are two vertical sections of the screen about 1/4' - 1/2' wide that do not register touch at all. It is really quite annoying. If there is a way to go about getting just a replacement I would be fine but as is the screen is unacceptable.

Oh it looks fantastic. I replaced my tablet screen and it powered right up. HOWEVER, the touch functionality is complete garbage. Errant/ghost touches click all over the place, multi touch doesn't work, and certain parts of the screen (top right, entire left side for 1cm) are entirely dead, so depending on the orientation, you can't pull down the task bar or cant open icons and I have to constantly flip it around. The worst annoyance was when I was looking at Maps of San Fran, and ended up, I kid not, in ANTARCTICA. That's how poor the touch function is. It's also overpriced, and returning it seems like a huge hassle (disassemble entire tablet, remove glue..). It does get a star because if I don't touch the screen and put on Netflix, it mostly works OK. Shame on Amazon for hosting this junk
