Review 'It's a beautiful book with beautiful pictures. The instructions are detailed and accompanied by photographs. Making this farm would be a wonderful family project.'– Juno Magazine 'A wonderful range of people, animals, tools, scenery, buildings and furniture may be made using this unusual craft technique. The first part of the book gives detailed and easy to follow instructions on working with felt, with beautiful, clear photographs of the different stages of construction. The second part consists of a richly illustrated 60 page story featuring the characters and animals that are shown in the first part of the book. The story itself is very appealing and the book itself could be used solely as a picture book, although a hand-felted catsitting beside you would add greatly to the experience!'– Home Education Adversory Service Read more About the Author Rotraud Reinhard was born in Germany in 1961. WET FELTING! Technique not mentioned in book description...
It's not until you start reading the reviews that you find the pertinent data....that this book is about WET FELTING. Since I often find reviews that don't really relate to the book concerned, I ordered anyway since it popped up as one of the first books in an amazon query about needle felting books. I should have read the reviews first. Off the donate to the library.....

fantastic pictures....
Can't wait to get myself busy with this. So many super cute ideas, Im really hoping to make a mini farm....like a train set...only all felted goodness. The pictures are fantastic, seems easy enough to follow for me. I know not everyone was happy because it wasnt step by step and some is wet felted. I like to get books for ideas/diff techniques and this deff fits that!

Felting crafters guide, childrens 'Farm life' story book illustrated with felted characters
This is a beautfully illustrated book for felting crafters, but also for anyone who appreciates home-spun artistry and creativity, or even if just to enjoy the fully illustrated story, 'A day on the farm' using their felted characters, included in the book. I was so eager to begin making some of the wonderful little animals and other pieces shown, following carefully the step-by-step instructions! I did not have the success I had hoped for however. The comments on materials to use said any kind of wool that felts well can be used, but even with good quality merino wool I could not achieve the smooth, tight surface appearances nor the control of shaping objects as pictured. I am admittedly fairly new to felting crafts, and it's just not as easy as it looks! I need much more practice apparantely. The inspiration to keep working at it is abundant in this delightful book.
