Lock Docta Dreadlocks Tool

This thing works! There are a few things that I would like to say about it though, before you use it. First, watch the video on YouTube. Second, BE CAREFUL! The needle is very sharp and you eventually will poke yourself. Also, since it's so thin, it will break if you aren't being careful. However, they do send you 3 needles for when it does happen. Lastly, follow all instructions on the video and BE PATIENT. I didn't completely fix my dreads on the first try. Keep with it and don't go too fast. Like all aspects of great dreads, it takes time!

This is seriously the best tool ever, and I wish I'd had one when I first started my dreads! Helps me work frizz in faster than my previous needle and thread method, and doesn't jerk hairs back out the way a crochet hook does.BUT...(And this is the reason it doesn't get 5 stars from me)...THERE IS A LEARNING CURVE!You HAVE to be prepared to go cautious, and break a couple of needles while learning how to use it. I did break a few (maybe 3-4) before really getting the hang of it. Now that I do, I haven't broken a needle in over a year. You MUST keep the needle straight, and don't attempt to force it too deep into particularly strong locks. If you can be smart and have some patience, this will easily become your favorite piece of equipment.

It's a shame this product only has 4 stars because after just 10mins of using this tool my dreads have improved greatly!!I have mostly straight caucasian hair. My loops were getting crazier and crazier. Crocheting wasn't doing a whole lot and one wash would seemingly destroy my progress. I was really started to hate my dreads and would constantly have to put my hair up because it felt so awkward and ugly.As for fragility, the needle has yet to break on me. There is a YouTube video on how to use the product correctly which is very simple btw. So far it does not feel terribly fragile or dangerous as long as I'm being mindful, patient and pointing away from my body.This product has helped me love my dreads again! Thank you!!

I usually never leave reviews but this product needs one.....it is amazing...I have starter locks, 4 mnths in and even though I am palm rolling like crazy I have a lot of bumps and loops. When I got this product I immediately put it to use and OMG it works wonders. Use it like the video says and the bumps and loops go away....no problems with breakage so I am not understanding all the reviews that says theirs broke. Use it like the video suggests....straight in an out! This is a great product!

Although I did read the reviews, i watched a video on how to use it and was desperate to try anything. Well needless to say it worked great for about 1 minute and I really thought that I had it down, then BLAM! it snapped. Popped the other one it, went slower and more precise, and used less pressure and well.. it snapped again. They gave me three and now I have none within the first 10 minutes of opening the package. I'm so sad because it does work... until can't.

I really wanted this to be better than it was. It does do what it's supposed to, just not as well as I hoped. Also, the needles are very weak. It would probably get better a review if it cost less.

Today is one month exactly since I stared locking up my hair. I have long straight hair and I back combed, twisted, ripped, rolled and crocheted my hair. I had alot of lose hair at the roots and tried two other'lose-hair ' tools before I bought the lock docta. Nothing compares, this tool had helped me so much. I read the reviews about how fragile it was. I found a video tutoriAL and used it as directed with no problem. I'm so grateful for this design, I feel good about my hair again. Before lock docta I was starting to regret my locks-now I'm prout to show them off!

For anyone that has knots or bumps in their dreadd I highly recommend this tool I have yet to find another tool like this...I had bumps in my hair that were so thick in the back and I hated it because it just didn't look right then I found the creator on YouTube and found his tool on Ancona and love it ever sense... the only flaws I would say are the needles break easily if you are using too much force but luckily there are replacements
