Great product
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the legs that clip onto the vent. The springs break really easily. I kept the ones from the scosche brand mount that I had before and they work much better.

Works well but seems a little flimsy
Overall this device has works really well. I am very glad I got it and use it often. It allows me to have the phone open to play music or answer phone calls on speakerphone while driving on highways (without looking away from the road). Using this device is A LOT SAFER than having your phone on a seat next to you while driving. (Note: You must be able to connect your phone to your car's audio system for music, this device only holds the phone in place.) Hopefully your car has an air vent near the center top of the dashboard so you see the road when looking at the phone mounted in this device which is mounted on your air vent.Possible negatives:1. Although I have not had any trouble with this phone holder, it appears a little flimsy. It has worked fine for me for a year. I expect it to last quite a few years if it doesn't get whacked with something while loading or unloading the car.2. It takes a modest amount of effort to mount it on the air vent on your dashboard. You do not need any special tools and you do not have to be very handy, but it is not really easy to install either. It takes five minutes of work to get the device spring mounting to be set up on your dashboard air vent nicely, and to see how to mount your phone in it securely. There are side edges to hold your phone by compression, plus two bottom edges that can rotate under your phone. The bottom edges that rotate can be moved around so your power and audio output plugs on your phone are not blocked.3. You may have to press the side button repeatedly to get it to open up enough to fit an iPhone. Not a problem but press the button twice if it doesn't open enough to fit your phone after only one button press. Press the button to release your phone when you leave the car.4. It does block that air vent a little but not really a problem.5. Don't forget your phone in your car when you leave your car!

Despite it being incredibly cheaply built it is almost perfect for my needs. Here's how not to break yours:
This little phone mount has lasted me a long time. It's a cheap piece of plastic, but this serves it's purpose so well that I'm actually okay with that in this specific case. In my vehicle (A 2010 Toyota Tacoma), the ideal place to mount your phone is on the driver's right side air vent. This mount sits there well, and allows me to see my phone (for GPS) safely while driving, and also have my phone plugged in to my aftermarket AV receiver for audio playback. In theory, this should be a 5 star product because it fits my needs exactly perfectly. But like I said before, this is just a cheap piece of plastic. It's function has become somewhat limited due to it breaking in a couple spots. From what I gather, you are supposed to squeeze your phone tightly in between the arms on the sides of the product every time you use it, and release the arms by pressing that little button when you need to remove the phone. However: If you actually do that, this will break almost immediately. The "Squeeze and release" motions of this mount are not robust at all, and would last maybe a month of daily use. What I would recommend doing is setting the arms on the sides to a width that fits your phone somewhat snugly, but still loose enough to remove without adjusting the stand.I've used this mount for more than three years now, and only adjusted the width once, when I upgraded from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 6+ (which is considerably larger). In addition, one of the four arms on the sides that holds the phone in place broke off. The mount still works, but that is something to be aware of.Usually, something that breaks like this and isn't very robust would be an automatic 1 or maybe 2 star review if I'm feeling generous, but for this product I'm really conflicted. It does suit my needs perfectly, and even though it isn't well built, just setting it and not adjusting it has made it last much longer than it should have.If I could, I'd give it 3.5 stars, but because that isn't possible, I'll give it 4.

Works well but lacks in build quality
This was the only universal GPS holder I found that met my needs because it mounts onto the vent and has an adjustable bracket. The bracket arms protrude out enough to hold my (thick) GPS and I can adjust it so that it doesn't block the charging port and On/Off button. This holder has great functionality.Still, it leaves too much to be desired. First, the plastic feels very cheap and flimsy. I'm afraid the plastic vent clips will snap so I don't move or adjust it if I can avoid it. Second, the vent clips don't have a firm hold by design. The holder leans on the vent more than it holds onto it, unlike cellphone holders I've used. It works ok and doesn't shake too much, but doesn't feel secure.
