The Steve Allen Show

This is volume 1 in a four volume set of Steve's 1956-1960variety show. It ran live and in color on NBC Sunday nightsopposite Ed Sullivan on CBS and Maverick on ABC.For the fourth season, Steve moved to Monday nights, butwas cancelled in 1960.These two black and white kinescopes are a bit dirty andscratchy in places, but if you can overlook that, a fine exampleof 1950's entertainment.

I watched him every night when he was on initially in the 50s. It remains the best as far as I'm concerned. Loved all the nutty characters and Steve's laugh was contagious.

I enjoyed the whole dvd. I always loved his talent I was hoping that there might be some of his antics when he used to put that hat on his head and read complaint letters from the newspaper! He was so funny. He would laugh at his own jokes. If you know of that on any dvds, please let me know.

The quality of this DVD is so bad it is unwatchable. Returned it. Don’t waste your money! I would give zero stars if I could.

All of these videos met my expectations fully. To have any of his original shows available for purchase is a dream come true.

Fabulous!! If only we had the Tonight Show kinescopes.

The DVD is horrible! It keeps skipping and it was a gift so I'm mortified. I just sat down with my husband to watch it! It's so bad it's almost unwatchable.

There were 156 episodes of the Steve Allen show; this is three of them. Looks to be a home-made digitization of VHS tapes.There are other places on the web where you can get comparable quality episodes, but far more for less money.
