First Exposure (Aegis Security) Paperback – October 14, 2013

Cade and Avery knew each other since high school but he left her behind and never looked back. Twelve years later they are face to face because Avery needs help finding her friend. Low and behold Cade is the one the boss puts on the line to help her find her friend . Can they let the past go to do just that? Chemistry is off the charts but old hurts come to light and truths come out and shock to their core. But can love overcome or push them away?

Though this was pretty short, it read like a full length novel without rushing anything. Even though this is listed as the first Aegis story, I actually read 2 of the full length novels first. I knew I would like this story based on how much I enjoyed the other books. This story is set in a resort for swingers. Cade and Avery have an antagonistic history, but end up staying at the resort undercover. While I definitely wouldn't classify this as erotica, it was certainly very steamy with some background sexual activity which was much freakier than what the main couple engage in. Plenty of suspense and a bit of action make this story interesting and exciting.

I found this book by reading another of Elisabeth's great series. Always looking for another book to read, I grabbed this one up. Once again, Elisabeth didn't disappoint! Cade & Avery were electric. It read so well I didn't realize it was only a novella. I can't wait for the next installment in this new series of hot security guys. :-) The back drop in Kentucky is a beautiful place to begin & the story just goes from there to the island resort for couples. With Cade & Avery being there to solve a case, things like feelings for each other keep getting in the way. Lots of fun, lots of intrigue & and great book to curl up with!

I enjoyed this book. Would have liked more back story for the two than just a chapter. What was done to Melody for three weeks? Another abrupt ending. They had a past life together and not much of an explanation.

I love the stories written by Elisabeth Naughton and this one didn't disappoint. The first part of the story is very hot and sexy but then you receive a punch on the gut with the secrets both characters are keaping from each other and that is what I love about her books, the characters are not some beautiful empty puppets but people with difficult past lives that put one foot in front of the other and kept going. So this book is short but powerful. I loved it

Fast paced and well-written is what we expect from this author and we are not disappointed. It is a little predictable, the love from the past thrown together with the one left behind in a life threatening situation but when something is well-written then interest never flags. The romance is hot, the characters are easy to connect to so in all a good read.

I just love this author. I love her Eternal Guardian series (have read all those books twice now) and I am loving this new series also. This is one of those authors that you will pick up and then get nothing done in your house.

I enjoy Elisabeth Naughton books.

Excellent read

Interesting follow up to the boxset Stolen series, along a different path, yet it ends in happiness well written in all aspects.
