Purigen is an actual absorbing type product that removes impurities from your system water. Q: Does it matter what size? I want to save money and get the 70 gal for my 3 gal tank lol

The size doesn't matter, I bought the cheapest one and took the biomax out of the bag so they fit-for a 3 gallon from the 70, divide the biomax bag equally into about 12 piles, then put one of the piles into your filter and save the rest (as you will want to change them out eventually) this should give you enough filtration for a 3 gallon with out overdoing it.
