Installing the Hitching post.
Many reviews voiced frustration not being able to anchor to the ground. I purchased a 36” long x 2.1/4” outside diameter, schedule 40 galvanized steel pipe from the electrical section at menards. Plus a 80 lb of quick Crete. Dig a 16”deep x 20” diameter wide hole. Next I placed the pipe in concrete with 16” sticking above the concrete. After concrete cured I placed the hitching post over the pipe. Works great snug fit. One other thing in I bought JB Weld epoxy to connect the horse head to the post.

Hitching Post-Horse Head
Product looks good but I am having a problem trying to figure out how to secure it to the ground so it will not tip over.

Highly recommended for the discerning buyer
I have an English manor home and this was the perfect compliment to my front entry. Weighs nearly 80lbs and sits beautifully on the front walk without needing to be bolted or cemented to the ground. I loved the first so much that I ordered a second. Unfortunately, one ear on the second had broken off at some point and been repaired before I received it. The repair job wasn't the best but it actually adds a bit of character to the piece so I decided to keep it. Still, I feel that a piece of this caliber and price should never have been sold and shipped as 'new.'

Garbage
Poor quality. Head needs to be welded or glued on. Maybe worth $ 50. Don’t waste your money

Heavy every heavy, you will need a good base for it.
I have three, all on a base 8" across and 24" deep with 1.25" x 4 ft. pipe in the center bolting them down. This maybe a bit much. They are all level and will take a hit from some kid.

The post was pretty much as it appeared in the ad
The post was pretty much as it appeared in the ad. However, the head didn't fit the post and in no way could it be made stable. It will need to have an iron or steel post purchased and inserted to actually use. This was a gift for Christmas. Disappointed in the quality of the post. The delivery was on time and without problems.
