Clearly powdered chocolate from a tin is awfully convenient. The trade off is the addition of nutrients, other flavors, tons of sugar and other additives. Guittard combines powdered cacao and slivers of baking chocolate to provide a pure hot chocolate. There is very little sugar in this and we love that. Tips: 1. Use whole milk to make is special. I more often use skim but in very cold weather for a special occasion...real milk makes all the difference. 2. Heat the milk before adding the powder. These are pure ingredients and need the heat to meld with the milk. 3. If you are caffeine sensitive, go easy at night. This stuff is powerful.

This is the best of all the brands I have tested. It dissolves in the milk, unlike cocoa powders like Droate. It is not super sweetened or cut with milk powder like a Nestles. Make it hot, top with whipped cream. Perfect.

I was told how "rich" tasting this hot chocolate was, and was told, it was "the best" by a trusted friend. So, we tried it and agreed, it was the best--very similar to the hot chocolate we had in France and Italy, maybe it was the same. So good.

Was exactly as described. I have been looking for good drinking chocolate for a while, this was perfect, rich chocolate taste, not to sweet.
