Good Value Music Player...
We bought this to replace a 5x more expensive CD-Radio which played MP3 but not the better-quality WAV files that we rip from CDs we own. It is a bit finicky to configure and the manual is not strictly correct but it plays MP3 files and WAV music well and IMHO is well worth the money. The 'manual' (1 sheet of paper with umpteen languages in small-print) advises to press the volume knob to change the balance etc. but this is not quite correct.... Press the RIGHT hand knob repeatedly to select BASS/TREBLE - BAL/FADE and for sound-profile (DSP) equalisation and THEN twiddle the VOLUME KNOB to select the value on the display... Fiddly but this is what you need to do... The remote-control can be used for changes to the DSP for pop/rock/jazz/classical/flat or "e9of" which means 'equalisation off' and resorts to the bass and treble settings on the aforementioned right-hand knob... Other not-mentioned settings on the display by prodding the right knob are LOUd (loudness (on/off)) and LOC/DX ((local/multiplexed) radio reception type) ... Where we are radio reception is far better on 'DX'...Both SD card (32Gb tried so far) and 32Gb USB plays podcasts/music etc. better than the older - more expensive CD/radio it replaced and it plays within folders continuously if you just let it go... Unusually the SD card is inserted with label down! FM radio is quite good too but scan/auto-store finds several of the same station so best to do it manually...Power output is not great - the claimed '60w' is probably peak rather than continuous but in our little car it plays radio etc. very loud indeed so no-worries there...We have this device installed in a small VW/AUDI/SEAT-series car and connection should be standard (2 ISO 'blocks) for any VW-made car... Pin 4 on the power connector maintains the clock - set it by pressing the "DIS" button (on the front with the programme presets) and twiddle vol. as for other functions ... Pin4 on the connectors keeps the clock and other settings which otherwise resort to defaults when you turn the ignition off!Negatives... The multi-colour display dances about and can't be configured/turned-off or dimmed. The two control-knobs are a bit slippery for on-the-go use... changed the knobs and it's a big improvement when driving; the knobs are on a 6mm shaft with a flat - lots of choices on Amazon but I simply clipped a bottle-top over each of the existing..!Have not tried Bluetooth/mobile phone connection yet...
