Don’t listen to the negative reviews about “it’s not assisted opening” and stuff. Assisted opening is the nob to push the blade out. The blade is really sharp and sleek in design. You have to do a quick flick when you push the blade to open it and it is very smooth and fast. The wooden handle only cover one side but that’s only because the other has a belt clip. For me, it is well worth the money. This is definitely one of Gerbers best blades they’ve ever made. It is perfect keep with ya as an everyday carry for now sleek it is. It is as thin as my Donword minimalist wallet (highly recommend!). I like how light it is along with how easy it is to hold and wield. I wanna describe the blade of this a bit more because it really surprised me when I Flicked it open for the first time. I love doing carpenter work and carving and I though I would carve a spoon with it and it did a really good job! I cleaned it up and tried cutting some food. I know that’s an odd use for it but I like to have gear and tools that can perform multiple purposes. In this case, this knife can cut steak very nicely, along with fruits and vegetables. It’s amazing! Well worth it!

The negative reviews are the seller and not the product. No it doesn't assist open, it never said it did. No it's not going to cut through wood blocks, get serious. I work in a car garage and I use this knife every day from opening boxes to using it as a makeshift pry tool for lighter objects. I 9 months it hasn't let me down or broken. It's my perfect EDC. I have pruned plants and trees wth it even. It's sharp and stays that way. Opens easy, low maintenance, gorgeous, light weight. I now have 2 of them. This thing goes with me every place I do. Gerber did it right

I got this blade because I always seem to not have anything on hand to cut open all these packages my wife keeps getting from ordering stuff online using my money.The blade has an unusual shape for a pocket knife, but it's the shape I was looking for to cut open cardboard boxes.The feel is much nicer than a box cutter. It has a smooth opening and the weight makes me know where it is. Unlike a box cutter that I forget what pocket I put it in.It's a good, wide blade, and the locking spring is strong.I bit highly priced, but for a lifetime guarantee, I would have to worry if it gets damaged.

Carry this every day. Stays sharp. Easy to use. Pretty small size. Does not chip. Not much more you can ask for.

The shape of the blade makes it great at taking down boxes. I use it at work every day and it holds a sharp blade for a long time, also a very easy shape to sharpen with no curve. The black finish is starting to wear from sharing a pocket with my keys but the bamboo looks great and the important parts still work like new. The hinge and lock were stiff out of the box but are much easier to use after 1 or 2 days of use. Great price point where I don't feel like I'm buying cheap crap that will break immediately but if I have to replace it in a few months I'll feel like I got good use from it. Will buy again if I need to.

Lots of wear on the exposed wood, through the package. Knife is still good and Sharpe perfect little carry for the pack. Just sad it was poorly packaged and the lite damage

I ordered this knife after seeing someone say it was a good product. I received it and it actually looks pretty nice, just a single side has the bamboo veneer, I was hoping both sides had it in case I wanted to flip the clip, but it seems that you aren't able to switch the sides the clip is on. The knife overall seems pretty solid from the little use I've put it through, so only time will tell how it holds up. But the biggest problem I have with it is that it's very stiff to open and often gets stuck with a simple flick, I feel like I need to aggressively flick the back of it and swing it violently to get it to open in a single motion, but maybe it's just because it's new and still needs to be broken in (hopefully) and the line lock is also pretty stiff and I need two hands to close the blade. The blade style being straight makes it easier to sharpen than traditional curves blades, which means it doesn't have much of a point, so stabbing through card board boxes is a little thougher.If you want something unique and don't mind the stiffness, I'd say it's a pretty decent knife that's got a good simplistic style to it.

I have enjoyed Gerber products for decades. Since my early years serving in the US Army. Their blades and multi tools are some of the best products in the market.I love this blade for it's design, easy carry, light weight, and durability.Comes in handy for all sorts of needs.This is my daily carry in my pocket when a blade is needed it is in my pocket always.
