It is better then I expected
It is entertaining, one of the few fantasy shows that have D&D monsters types. The episodes were interesting with a good plot line, from one episode to the next, sort of like Game of Thrones, where if you miss a episode, you will be lost.My biggest complaint is the fight scenes. Their poorly choreographed, and oh so slow. But I am more interested in the story and it is intriguing. This is nothing like Xenna or G.O.TIt is basically about a young girl who was orphaned at a young age and her village of black bloods, (they have black blood and it is poorly explained, their use of magic). But as the village was being ransacked and all the villagers were being put to death by mercenaries, her mother was asked by a elder to summon a demon (s) to defend the the village. As her mother was hesitate to recite the incantation, so when she does decide to do it, she is half way through it and get's a bolt in her back and dies. Her daughter matures in a beautiful young woman and goes on a vendetta to avenge her village people who were all slaughter by mercenaries, who have a distinct mark or tattoo on their right forearm. After she summons her first demon; the demon, she starts hearing rumors about of the killings going on and every innocent that is killed, their dead bodies are left close to her proximity. So she is being blamed for the killing and goes on a crusade to exercise or gate back the demon in which she summoned. So after she sends the demon packing, she then hear's about a book that has many demons names to be summoned, and so starts another crusade and I am going to stop typing about this, because there are more details I left out on purpose.Talon was brought to the "Out Post" looking for employment and found a lot more then she bargained for. So let me end here. This was the closest show depicticting D&D; where Talon was a fighter/thief, just trying to survive.

For myself I enjoyed this series a great deal
Having grown up with the old sword fights with the likes of Errol Flynn, and being fond of stories about other worlds. The struggle of good versus evil. Unexplained powers, creatures from other worlds, loyalty, betrayal . For myself I enjoyed it a great deal.

Great Beginning
Amazing TV series, with interesting characters and all the ingredients for medieval fantasy show fans: monsters, mysteries, swords and knights in shine armors. Talon, the main character, is very likeable from the beginning, as well as handsome, heroic and too proper and cautious Captain Garret Spears (who, after Talon's arrival, gets stuck between two love interests). Gwynn (and her only-child stubbornness), Jenzo (and his wits), Wythers (and his grumpiness), the Mistress (and her mischiefs), Munt (and his naivete) also contribute to make the story compelling.

What struck me was a lack of names known by me
What struck me was a lack of names known by me except Jonathan Glassner. It was refreshing. They pulled it off fairly well so I'll order season 2.

Love this show!
The first season of the Outpost hooked me right away and I am happy to finally own it on DVD as it's often hard to find on any streaming services. Highly recommend if you like High Fantasy that has CW undertones. Reminded me a lot of the vibes from BBC Merlin.
