Great sub if you can get for a good price.
Great sounding and powerful as all heck. I hooked it up once I got it and paintings were falling off the wall stuff off my desk, and it wasn't even all the way up lol. IF you can get this for a great price like i did ebay $200 brand new too by all mean get. Shop around i'm not sure you can ever get at that price but less than offered is possibly i'm sure. Its worth it trust me if you can i've own a bunch of sub this is 2nd to the m audio gsr 18(my all time favorite sub i've owned) but that was an 18 lighter and had wheels. Still for an 15 inch this is a really good powerful sub shockingly given the company. The construction is solid seems like it will last and won't chip and get damaged, the finish i like as well. This allow you to run mains into it i think they go down to 120 hz which is pretty good. Just make sure you have a bunch of male or female style cables theses take no xlrs.Bad its kinda of the heavy side for a 15 by today's standards this is about 80lbs I have an jbl 18 inch that weighs less, but its not as powerful. So you might need a dolly or help lifting place to place or up stairs as most 15's are more portable out now. But might cost more so just depends on your wallet, and if you don't mind the weight. I would suggest the alto 15 to this in terms of size and price, but warranty durability go with this as it could be a better investment.Last I have some the shs tops the ste 12 powered and my only issue is that I wish those were as powerful as the than I'd be super happy. Esp for the cost of the tops and now the sub which wasn't expensive at all for a complete system. Also the tops are super portable not sure why shs couldn't of made the subs as light weight, like an inverse of what should be. Anyway for the price power and portability compared to the weight price of other brands can't go wrong. I will say they sound great with a sound maximizer without not sure how great others might like it. They will get loud together but nothing exceeding earth shattering, but they sound nice smooth. Highs are great and they throw very well, but again nothing super loud like high priced brands. If your doing 50-100 people tops alone are fine,125 and up you will need a bass bin or more speakers. Should you get theses i would suggest them to people on a budget looking for quality gear that will last and will do simple gigs. If you need ultra loud spl or power get a sub like this or look else as the tops they offer at shs are limited compared to today's standard, but for my needs theses will be fine and i'll more then exceed my investment. Still I advise shop around on price and if necessary maybe add a passive box that shs audio in conjunction with the ste model as they have a speakon out to power a passive top, plus are light weight and all wood which to me sounds better than plastic the bass at least(i play hip hop reggae bass out of the entire set is actually to much sometimes). And oh get a sound maximizer otherwise i'm not sure how great they will be as i only use theses with a sound maximizer. Need any more help add me on twitter @2knerdz rock on.
