LAVA ME 2 Acoustic-Electric Carbon Fiber Guitar w/Effects, Super AirSonic 36'' Black

I bought the Lava Me 2 after seeing several reviews of the guitar on YouTube. I initially thought reviewers were over-hyping this thing, and I had planned on sending this thing back if I didn't absolutely love it. It really surprised me. First, it has a real tusq nut and a real tusq saddle. I was expecting some cheap plastic parts but instead the nut is higher quality than the tektoid nut on my Gibson Firebird. The nut is also cut really well. Next, the frets are gorgeous. Not a sharp fret end or a high spot anywhere. They advertise that they put it through a plek machine, and I believe it. The string action is great right out of the box. The tuners seem to be the companies own design and they keep it in tune well. They don't slip and I'm not constantly retuning. I'd prefer Grovers or something similar, but they work well enough. You aren't going to have to worry about them. The strings out of the box are Da'addario 11's. They must have just put them on before shipping because they are obviously brand new. No way it sat around in a warehouse. No need to change them which is rare in a Chinese guitar. I worried about it feeling like a toy. It doesn't. For reference it's about the same size as a 3/4 size strat but obviously thicker. It feels like you are holding an expensive electronic appliance. I know that sounds weird but that's what it reminded me of. The effects are fun. I especially like the chorus. it's just full enough without sounding cheesy. The delay is good but I feel like it needs a longer delay time. The range on the delay is really small. The overall sound of the instrument is really nice. You wouldn't know it was made of carbon fiber. It's got an even string response, it's loud for it's size, and it's fun to play. Doesn't sound like a toy. This thing would be perfect for buskers, travelers, or people like me that are just tired of the same old thing and wanted to try something new. The TL:DR is that this thing is really high quality. Don't let the made in China label scare you. It's definitely a keeper.

Delivery was really quick and the communication was great, the packaging is great too as you get lots of bits thrown in like a pick set and usb charging cable for the on board preamp so it's like buying a new iPhone when it comes!I'd definitely advise going for this model with the built-in effects.The effects work great and it's got a good tone for a travel sized guitar too! The delay, reverb and chorus do make a difference so I'm really impressed!It's bright but without losing the bottom end, which I was worried about, and as a former touring guitarist, the sound was important to me. For this reason, I've also spent ages playing around with the effects trying to get as many variations of sound as possible (I'm one of those!) and I'm loving how versatile it is!It's well made too which is great, very lightweight and easy to play so I'm confident I could take it on holiday with me if needed. Really happy with this guitar! I'd certainly class it as good value as you'd pay the same or more for something with far less to offer from another brand.

I have never written a review before but this guitar absolutely deserves one....I travel every 2 years to India. Every guitar (whether it was electric or acoustic) gets warped from a combination of humidity, temperature, and 2 years of not being played for 2 years. I wanted a guitar I could leave there for the next time I visit and not have to spend time and money on a new guitar each time I go there. The Lava me 2 through all those concerns out the window. Doesn't care about humidity..... or temp..... or even not being played for 2 years at a time!!! I'm sure the lack of trus rod being replaced with the 2 carbon fiber rods have a lot to do with not being played in 2 years. This baby was easy to travel with thanks to the bad ass case it came in, the shorter scale length, and it's held up to the elements well. The original unboxing and original presentation of the guitar was also unexpected but equally satisfying. All frets perfect, decent tuners, all strings new, not a single scratch. Now I'm also 100% sure that I was NOT the 1st person to play this guitar as it had finger prints all over it and was tuned to Open A. Not Amazon's or Vendors fault and I don't mind since the guitar is in mint condition. The lava me 2 has a surprisingly loud rich sound thankfully not the tinney sound I was afraid I might hear from a carbon fiber guitar. The single coil pick up is equally kick ass and the built in effects are a nice bonus.This guitar is worth the money and a round of applause to the company. This is an excellent guitar
