Sunmodo K10068-BK1 EZ Roof Mount Kit with L Foot, Black, Pack of 10

I got these over a year ago and they are doing fine holding up panels on my roof. I did some myself, yet had other contractors do some where they used the same things (see my pictures of the ones that aren't black). The kit comes with 10 of the pieces shown in the layout. It would be best to put them on while doing a roof job, but they can be installed later.The way to install them is as follows: Find where your roofing trusses are and mark where you want to install it. Pre-drill a pilot hole (~3/16) and install the round bracket with the lag screw. They do suggest some caulking around the lag screw & bottom of bracket for minor roof leaks, but it may not be needed. With the round bracket installed slide the plate under shingles above your location and place it so the threads come thru the hole. As you install that you may need to trim some shingles above so it lays flat, especially near where the bracket is. Slide the angle bracket over the installed one, align it the way you want and install the nut over it. Note, the angle bracket hole is somewhat oval, so it will slide a bit (and a part of it's hole may be uncovered if offset too far).It's now ready for other rails/brackets that you can use the remaining bolts included for. I personally got carriage bolts where the square section just under the heads prevents it from turning as I tighten the nut. There's some rails made for panels that go for $50 for 8 feet, but I just got aluminum angle iron rails and drilled holes where needed for a lot less. Hope you can make it work.

I have purchased this item 4 times, to try and finish a project. Two of the four times I have had to return the product due to the fact that it was missing parts. The package simply did not have what it should have. One time it was missing the bolts and hardware, another time it was missing the plates. The product works just the company is terrible at quality control of its shipments.

All the package contained was the flashing, which has about a half inch hole for the missing mounting plate and nut. Totally unusable.

I just received my Sunmodo K 10068-BK1 EZ roof mount KIT, but it did not include any hardware, water seals or any type of instructions. Just the L-feet and the flashing. NO hardware!!!! Not even a list of 'other parts required...This is not a kit!

Excellent product. Very easy to install and very easy to adjust too.
