Helpful
I really like using this book with students more interested in modern music, but it is also helpful for those interested in improvisation. It is not for very early beginners; you do need to know how to read notes. If you can and are interested in expanding your horizons and learning how to play pop, rock, and jazz songs from a lead sheet, you should definitely consider getting it.It starts with simple patterns and, little by little, gets more interesting and creative. It also includes many commonly used patterns, which come in handy when you don't know what to play with the left hand when the right one is playing a melody.I think the only missing thing is that there could be backing tracks (via a link) to make it more fun to practice the songs from part 2 of the book. But I guess it would increase the price, so... Not a big deal.Overall, it's not an anthology of left hand patterns, but it is precisely what it says - '100 left hand patterns'. It's a good start to understanding how to play from a fake book.Try this book if your experience is limited to playing music written traditionally or if you learn it from tutorial videos, but you want a little more. It can sparkle your musical creativity.

Great Method to Learn Piano Quickly
This is an excellent book and its unlike any that I have seen. Its great practice to work through the book trying each left hand pattern. I make note of the ones I like so I can quickly go back to work on them more. It had some good boogie woogie patterns that I had never seen. The song section is unexpectedly good. There are a lot of great familiar songs!I'm really pleased with the book. Its worth buying if you have interest in learning to play quickly and you don't plan to only read/play sheet music note for note.I've came along way quickly by learning a couple of nice left hand chord patterns and playing melodies with my right. If you can play other instrument(s) or just have a good sense of timing, this method can have you improving and playing some really great pieces within a month or so.Coming from the banjo and guitar, I'm playing piano better than I ever expected in a short time frame. If you want to improvise, play c, f, and g chord/pattern progressions and randomly press white keys. You will be surprised how good you can sound.

10 STAR Awsome
Oh my goodness I just got this book. It shipped on time! I've only gotten to the 11th pattern because I'm having so much fun exploring the songs I already know with them. okay for the review, if you have not already done so go watch his video on Youtube. He gives a very accurate description of whats in the book and what you can expect. If your already a beginner to intermediate piano player this will boost you to the next level. So ive been playing for two years and I mostly stay in the primary cords of C G F major. Jerald explains just move up 1/2 step to get to each chord. So from C to A major is 9 half steps right? So just move fingers 5 3 and 1 9 steps and presto A major. Well I already know my chords but I want to show how beneficial his way of teaching is. The patterns challenged my muscle memory. Especially the muscle sitting on my shoulders LOL. What I do is get a timer for 3 minutes and take my time learning the pattern with the metronome going and then increase the speed until it becomes second nature. This goes pretty fast so I then play in all 12 keys as suggested and lastly I play around with songs I already know just to see how the pattern can be applied. I give the book 5 stars but I'd give it more if I were able to. In sure I could be farther along learning the patterns but I can't stop playing songs. Another thing I've noticed is my dexterity and my confidence in embellishing seemed to just flow naturally following these methods. Kudos to the author Jerald Simon. I'll cherish the book for years to come.

Great Basic Fake Book, mostly in C Major. Nice accompaniment patterns
Nice font size and presentation.I wish the paper were thicker, since the following page bleeds through a little.

This is a good book
I saw this book pop up while searching for piano books and it sounded interesting. This book is a great book for supplementation to classical piano lessons. I like it and will be having my piano students buy it. The only complaint I have is that I wish there were even more LH patterns included. But this book is definitely a great starter and teaching tool.
