ON THE ROAD WITH WILDCAT & SHADOW
Another great adventure involving Wildcat, and Shadow, the timber wolf. I should call Shadow a Protector sent by the Spirit world, whenever they fell that Jess needs strong spiritual protection, such as Wildcat needed protection on her hunt from the ridge running Beecher Clan menfolk who later that night under the cloak of darkness creeped into Wildcat's camp to do harm and more to her(heartless slugs) they are. They capture the Boone Gang with the help of Shadow and good Intel from the different town's marshals, livery owners and Intel that Frank Reedy receive from different sources. Ain't the telegraph a mode of communication that has come to the Western Frontier..Yahoo, Yippee to advancements coming forth to all.Good plot and characters and especially the handles that these men are given. So we'll leave Jess Williams, Wildcat and Shadow till we all meet again at the cross roads for the next adventurous episode. Ride easy everyone and keep your powder dry. Don't forget Shadow's ham treats..Adios Amigos

A tale about a real man in a real world..
Not your typical western, more of a life journey of a man caught between two ways of life and not being a real part of either of them. Born of a white father and an Indian mother in the western land in Mexico. We enter his life in middle age, in sooner land OK. and begin his amazing trek to the beginning and end of it. If you enjoy history and of a mind to live this man's life through his own eyes, own narrative back, in the old west days, both good and yet, harsh at times, you will be enlightened for the partaking of it. I could not stop reading it way into the night. Bravo and a big snake rattle to the author of this novel. I am an avid reader of western novels and this one is top shelf, IMO.

Another chapter in the life & times of Jess Williams...
Never disappointed when I download the latest Jess Williams except wishing Mr. Thomas could write them as fast as we can read them. This time we are treated to another exciting hunt when Wildcat & Shadow join Jess as they complete putting down two bad ones that Wildcat has chased into Texas from New Mexico & then begin the track-down of the Boone gang. Jess lucks out getting a promising lead as to their hideout.Always a real treat when Shadow is along & this time is no exception. Totally enjoyed this one.Unusual for an ending...we are left with a real tease as to the next book. Really wets my appetite for the coming hunt & makes me even more anxious. This is going to be one long wait for #85.

Jess, Wildcat, & Shadow in a chance meeting join to hunt down the notorious & slippery BOONE gang.
Robert J. Thomas ' s Jess Williams series will never get less than 5 stars from me. I am a western book lover. I have not found a better example of a great western than Jess Williams. The reoccurring characters become your friends and you can't wait for his next adventure. Jess is a hero of the old west. He elimates the bad guys forever. That can't be done today. Read & Enjoy, you will be hooked for life.

The Boone Gang: Eighty-Fourth in a Series of Jess Williams Westerns
I was glad to see another great Jess Williams book. These books are so good that you can not wait for the next one to come out, the plus here is that a new book averages one per month; so do not haaaaaave to wait long to get your next fix of Jess Williams. It is good to see some of our favorite characters incorporated in this book with Wildcat and Shadow. Wildcat and Shadow help Jess to track down the notorious Boone gang. The action is great and exciting like always.

An RJT. Western Adventure (JWWS. - 84)
RJT. has penned the eighty-fourth novel in the Jess Williams series. JW is looking for four bank robbers that have a propensity to murder at ease. Before he can get on the outlaws trail he meets Wildcat who had already teamed up with Shadow. The hunt is own, but there are a few cobble stones that cause a break in the chase. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

The Fighting Trio
Great story of Jess, Wildcat, and Shadow combine forces against the Boone Gang. They track them in a large cavern but makes their escape and splits up to four different directions. Jess with Wildcat and Shadow pursues them one at a time. Awesome action. Always enjoy reading the trio at their fighting best.

If it wasn’t for the killings...
Number 84 and I’d stop if I could. These are beginning to read more and more like they’re written as fairy tales for children or teenaged girls... supernatural timber wolves, beautiful lady bounty hunters dressed all in black with long flowing hair and rock star names, they’re becoming less and less like westerns and more and more like bed time stories. If it wasn’t for the killings, just under 20 in this one, I’d say they’re actually being written for kids - but then again even the violence is being tempered given that the early books, in which the hero would kill upwards of a hundred, were far more violent and brutal. Give me a plain, old fashioned western with a tough, honest hero waging a one man battle against injustice and overwhelming odds and I’ll be happy. And please Mr Thomas use a dictionary and look up the meaning of the word “witty”, no one has a “witty smile” or “smiles wittily” try; sardonically, ruefully, wryly, drily any number of ‘almost’ synonyms. I will say the next book sounds promising and the dialogue has improved as it now reads as it would sound and is generally being written as speech which sounds less stilted and is a welcome improvement, so too the editing, now pretty much faultless. They’re still an easy, mostly enjoyable read and I know I’ll end up buying number 85... but that might be my last.
