An absolute classic
This book is not for you if you want complicated scientific body mechanics, street self defense techniques, astrology, numerology or chinese medicine. It’s a 1000% straight internal energy instructions manual thats a absolute steal for its price. People shell put thousands of dollars for stuff like this from the big names. The man isn't laughing maniacally as he snorts cocaine on a pile of cash with your with your 6.50 Leave your ego at the door, read it with an open mind, work it, and apply it carefully to your practice over time. He demonstrates his know how with helping you get the results you want from your practice as well as citing/dissecting advice from histories greatest taiji luminaries(he is fluent in chinese and has studied this stuff in its cultural context for over 45 years) If you still hate this book after giving it a shot, your an internet troll who needs to eat a box of crayons. I hope you find the inspiration in the future to write more stuff Scott. Thank you for this masterpiece

“..and One ring to bind them”
This book is a gem, especially love the high level review lists. (Strong steps and so forth) Really outlays a good global picture, tying back practices like TDG which is priceless.I think the previous books are necessary to process this volume, but they tie together nicely. This was delivered as promised, years worth of future training inside.I especially have valued the Reflex A&B exercises which have turned standing practice from being long torture, into something fun and way too short. In fact it seems to give me direct feedback on postural tension or anything else off. The reflex simply seems to stop if I tense up during standing. One thing noticeable to me: attendees to seminars such as the winter training session enjoyed special gifts which have not appeared in this specific book or others. Especially Dark Fire fans enjoyed some special taichi insights/exercises.The release of this book is even more reason to get in to the June seminar for annual hands-on training I guess. Either way, enjoying this book very much and how it weaves topics together. Even from the xingyi perspective, loved to see it back and in relationship true to the ‘one energy’ model of ARCI own both versions and prefer all of Scott’s books in paperback version, mostly due to how I train with them and take notes.

Don't Waste Your Time!
Despite being a short book, 5G Tai Chi: Covert Energy Methods manages to be a tedious read packed with filler rather than substance. Analogies and examples intended to clarify points are overdone and often long and unhelpful. They end up clarifying nothing and just being annoying. Furthermore, information is held back from the reader and at the end of the book the reader is baited into paying for online video instruction to get access to the most powerful techniques. In summary, don't waste your time with this book!

It’s Real, Folks
I’ve had the pleasure of attending several of Scott’s workshops in person, and read all of his books on Tai Chi, as well as watched most of his related videos. After practicing as instructed (within the boundaries of my own physical limitations) for a couple of years, I can say this stuff is profound and it really works. It’s simple, not always easy, but well worth the effort. If you have any interest at all in chi or the internal martial arts, this book is a must-have.

Do yourself a favor
There is a reason that people rave about this guy. Humble, straightforward, sincere, accomplished. If you have been practicing tai chi but feel that there must be a deeper level to the art, Scott Meredith might be the guide you need.

BUY THIS BOOK!
Anyone who practices the internal arts is probably interested in strengthening their inner energy or qi. Mr. Meredith's books plow through the nonsense and whittles off months and years of practice to where you will likely get tangible results if you are persistent and diligent. There are many books on the market for internal energy but they seem vague or get you lost in too much detail. Mr. Meredith has written numerous books and are all very useful but all together, may seem overwhelming. This is the only downside to his works, it's like going to Baskin and Robbins and you don't know which of a dozen favorite flavors of ice cream to pick! 5G Taichi pares the drills down to an amount one is able to wrap his head around. I would get all his books; his writing style is is fun and humorous so I'm tickled the whole time I'm reading and need to go back and review. Get his Chinese arts books, his works with the great Vladimir V. of Systema and his fiction, you will not regret it! Besides that, all his books are bargain priced so there is no risk!

Irelevent contents
This is the first book I read and I already annoyed with the judgement you made about how the reader feel and how they would criticize your book. Instead of wasting your ink with all of that, you should focus on writing your book in such a way that the reader can understand what you are trying to show or tell them. It doesn't really matter how many time you have to repeat, copy, replicate your information as long as the reader understand and remember it. REMEMBER, martial arts is about repetition! If anyone doesn't understand it and criticize your duplication of images or words, they are the dumb azz. And no! when you write a book you should consider deliver all necessary information, not a summary or asking the reader to read other books. You are writing the book, not the chapter or series

Unusual practices for unusual results
If you are in any way whatsoever interested in actually manifesting some of the more "mysterious" - shall we say - effects attributed to the internal martial arts such as Xing Yi Chuan - Tai Chi Chuan & Bagua Chang, then there is no way around Mr. Meredtith`s books. Do not expect politically correct language - ROFL. By no means. Expect instead precise and concise HOW TO descriptions that describe practically and to the point how to achieve certain results. Ohter texts on the subject are murky at the very best and outright obscure in the other cases. Mr Merdetith however will give you as clear cut a tutorial towards the path of internal energy development as you can get. I rarely ever says this, but the serious student needs Mr Merediths works. Be warned however: this is not about combat or anything. It is about ENERGY. And it delivers !!!! Said enough. Enjoy :-)

Newest masterpiece
Scott Meredith provides the best material on the energy arts of Tai Chi Chuan and Xing Yi Chuan. His newest book 5G is both suitable for beginners and advanced players. A lot of gems you must know if you are serious and that work. If you are really serious than you get his other books and videos to o (which are way too cheap by the way). A disclaimer though: Do not only read his works, put them into practice! One by one, exactly as stated! If you think you are smarter than Scott and already know it all, you wont gain anything! Thanks to him, I made progress never thought possible, feeling mingjing and also anjing although it took me two years of straight hard work without having to travel to China to find one willing and capable teacher.

Excellent content and writing style
Scott can be compared to a computer science professor at an elite engineering school (he literally has the qualifications to be one). His eloquent writing style and systematic approach to the convoluted subject of internal martial arts prescribe a direct path to a set of tangible results. However, because of his advanced knowledge, he would focus on the "computer programming" (internal works) assuming the noobs (most of us) already know how to turn on their "computers" (prepping the physical body for internal works). That being said, lack of adequate foundation in students should not be the fault of the professor. In the subject scope of this book, excellent 5 stars!

Saved the best for last
This is Scott Meredith's final book, in a series, on qi cultivation. If you know his work then you know this is a must have. If not, then it would be an interesting place to start. The price is right and there is a lifetime of training material in there. Whether your a dabbler or a serious practitioner, the insights provided in the book are priceless.Scott is planning to decommission availability of some of his downloadable and streaming videos as well as availability of his DVDs on Amazon. If one is to get anything, get his material on XinYiQuan first as it will soon be unavailable. I believe his North American produced DVDs will be the first to go. All the books will soon not be available eventually on Amazon. If you like Scott's stuff, you have been duly warned. Get it while you can.
