Quality deck plate
This is an high-quality stainless deck plate. The doorplate screws into the ring with many fine threads and seals tight with an O-ring. You will need a key tool to get it open. There was a thin layer of what appeared to be casting release or machining agent on the threads when I received it so I took a little time to clean the threads with a brass wire brush and inspect them well. The fine threads are very cleanly made (no burrs or roughness) and the turning action is smooth. Because these are fine threads one needs to take care not to cross-thread when starting. One thing I was looking for was plenty of countersunk holes to spread the force when attaching the ring to the deck. This one has 6 (plenty), unlike others I saw with only 4. Really happy with the product and customer service.

Love the looks of stainless steel
The quality of the cover was excellent. Very nice that they gave you a key to be able to open the cover and as usual Amazon is the best way to go

Not as advertized
Not 5 inches as advertised it is only 4 inches. Otherwise it’s great quality.

The right part for my job and looks good too.
This is going to work perfectly. Time will be the judge of the overall quality. The fact that his is a key required deck plate allows me to secure the area that won't be frequently accessed. The application here is on the deck surface of a custom bowsprit where the anchor chain will be traveling above it. Couldn't take a chance on plastic here.

Picture not accurate
Picture shows finger holes instead of pin holes for a wrench. Not interested in using a wrench to loosen. I returned because of that
