Great Vacuum
The media could not be loaded. Many years ago, we bought an iRobot Roomba. It worked great for a while to pick up the fur shed by my border collie. But then, we got a second border collie, and the Roomba just couldn’t keep up. Fur lodged itself into every nook and cranny of that Roomba, and it broke. There was no way to clean it all out. So I gave up on robot vacuums for a while. Those sweet dogs passed on and we adopted two new dogs, now with short hair but still shedding a lot. We decided to try a Coredy robot vacuum, and we were thrilled. It didn’t jam up with dog hair, even though it picked up plenty of it. That Coredy robot worked great until it had an unfortunate encounter with a quart of paint. Whoops! Totally my fault. We went back and bought 2 more Coredy robot vacuums -- one to replace the painty one, and one for another floor of the house. They have worked great, so we decided to purchase one more, the R650 Ultra for our 3rd floor. So far, we’re loving the R650 Ultra. It’s quieter than all of the previous models we’ve had. On the Coredy app, you can adjust the suction level, but it also self-adjusts as it moves between carpets and hard surfaces [see video]. It does such a great job on the carpet that it leaves vacuum marks like my full-size vacuum. I’ve never had a robot vacuum be that thorough. One of our dogs has a habit of getting the biggest mouthful of food she can and then moving to a different part of the house to eat it. As she trots through the house, she leaves a trail of dog food that falls out of her overfilled mouth. Stepping barefoot on one of these fallen dog food pieces rivals stepping on Lego! The Coredy R650 Ultra picks those pieces up easily [see video], saving my soles.I love that you can control it with the remote, the Coredy app, or with Alexa/Google Home. [NOTE: You need to download and log into the Coredy app before linking to Alexa/Google Home.] With earlier models that only used the remote, I could only set it to automatically run once per day at a set time, and if the battery died because it accidentally got trapped in a room away from the charger, I would need to reprogram it once I set it back on the charger. With the app, I can set it to run at various times on different days or to run multiple times a day, if I want. If it accidentally gets closed in a room and the battery dies, once placed on the charger and charged, it will run at its next scheduled time without me having to reprogram it. I can also tell Alexa to to run it or send it to its charging station if I want to run it outside of its scheduled times.PROS• Quiet• Easy to assemble• Thorough - even though I’d just vacuumed with our full-size vacuum, it still picked up enough pet hair to fill the bin in one cleaning.• Easy to clean [see video]• Connects to the Coredy app and Alexa to make it easy to run any time you want it to.• You can rename the vacuum in the Coredy app so that you don’t have to tell Alexa to “Run the R650 Ultra.” I renamed mine “Rosie” so I can just tell Alexa to “Run Rosie.”CONSIt was rather difficult to add the vacuum on my Alexa app. I followed the instructions in the Alexa app on my phone for adding a new device. I selected the option to add a new vacuum, and then selected the Coredy manufacturer option. I then followed the prompts, but it could never find the R650 Ultra. Multiple attempts to add a new device failed.I finally decided to google it. Google suggested enabling the Smart Life skill in the Alexa app. After enabling the skill, I was prompted to log in to one of several smart device apps, Coredy being one of them. I selected the Coredy option and logged in with my Coredy login info. Once I was logged in, Alexa automatically added the new R650 Ultra.Alexa only gives you the option to start the vacuum or send it to charge, so if you want to do something more advanced, you will need to use the Coredy app or the remote.

The New Highlight of my Life!
I replaced my Roomba with this and couldn't be happier. How happy? Well, I ordered another one for my upstairs, one for my office, and several for my kids. (You may wonder what the story was with my Roomba. Well, I had used it less than fifty times, and the battery went dead. I bought and installed a new battery, and then the side motor stopped working. For the price of two side motors, I bought this. And, as I said, I couldn't be happier. Well, maybe just a little happier if winter was finally over, but I digress.) What do I like about it? Ah, let me count the ways: 1. The are TWO -- not one, but TWO -- side brushes. Now, you would think that one side brush would be more than sufficient, but you'd be wrong. When the Roomba encountered a piece of debris with the side brush, half the time it would shoot it across the room like a slapshot from Jonathan Toews. In comparison, when the Coredy encounters a larger piece of debris, it shoots it from one brush, to be immediately intercepted (like a save by Corey Crawford) by the other brush and then guided into the roller and ultimately to the dust bin. 2. All of the filters are washable. Yes, washable! A quick run under the sink sprayer, a few hours to dry, and they're like brand new. There are three filters: a thin foam filter for larger debris, a HEPA filter, and a very thin membrane filter. I was amazed at the amount of fine dust they trapped, in addition to the regular amount of dog hair, paperclips, and cookie crumbs. 3. The Coredy can be set to automatically clean your house at a set time, via the included remote. Fortunately, for this particular model, there is no phone app, which was one of the reasons I got it. It's getting harder and harder to find items that simply do their job without input from phones, computers, Alexiis, Googlies, carrier pigeons, etc. The remote -- which has all the features you need -- is just fine. Oh, and another plus: the recharging dock has a space to neatly store your remote. 4. And speaking of the remote: it allows you to manually "steer" the Coredy if you want to do specific cleaning. But you don't have to limit yourself to cleaning! Be creative! Design a maze or obstacle course out of plastic cups (recycled, of course) and navigate it with your Coredy! Play bumper cars or tag with the grandkids! Oh, the list is endless! Other things I liked about it: vewy, vewy quiet. If I didn't hear it bumping around, I would never even know it was running. It was very easy to assemble: snap on the brushes (they include an extra set, too), take the shipping guards off, install the batteries in the remote, and away you go. The are a few things that curbed my enthusiasm just a little. It takes an awful long time to charge. If a beam of sunlight is shining on the floor, it tends to avoid it as if it were an object. It's a lot lighter in weight than my Roomba, which could be a good thing or a bad thing. Those aren't deal breakers for me, though. But now, The Big Question: how well does it clean? Robotic vacuums are all well and good, but when it comes right down to it, we really have them for a single purpose: to clean our floors. How does the Coredy stack up? In my opinion, it cleans as well as my Roomba on hard floors. It seems to do better on carpets or rugs. And it excels at picking up fine dust. I should note that there is an option to boost the suction power to 1600 suctions (whatever they measure them in) instead of the normal 1400, but I haven't tried this option yet. I assume that it cleans even better, but the standard setting works fine for me right now. I will try it in the future. TL;DR: Works great. Get it. Thank me later. :) Note: and be sure to watch the cute commercial/video for this product on the Amazon page. Guaranteed to make you smile. (Kind of reminds me of my favorite move, Electric Dreams with Lenny Von Dohlen and Virginia Madsen, but there I go digressing again.)
