Better than most
This sharpener was made to sharpen those large diameter pencils as well carpenter pencils. Good for making fire starter out of dried twigs when camping. Have not tried the blade sharpener slots yet.

What's not to like
So much better than trying to sharpen a carpenter's pencil with a knife. The blade sharpener is a nice bonus.
