great classic speakers
running a pair of these in an oversized 212 cab for a Mesa MkV90. They sound great, very balanced with plenty of low/mid/highs through their frequency range, no spikes in any frequency and powerful enough to handle my amp. The 16 ohm versions are slightly brighter than the 8 ohm. Currently running a 412 cab with the 16ohm versions for a soldano SLO100. Great speakers from a great american company.

Brings smaller amps alive
I use one in an open back 112 cab with lower watt solid state amps, like 10w to 30w. I have run Marshall, Vox, Fender, Orange, Peavey, and a whole list of no-name junk amps through them and each one sounded much, much better. Also way louder because these speakers have such a high SPL rating, probably 6db's over the stock speakers, just guessing. I have several different Eminence speakers. They seem to make pretty good stuff.

Loud lil' sucker
Bought this to replace the stock fender speaker in my single 12" rig and have used it at a few dozen gigs since then...I play loud (volume at 11) normally, and before doing the switch I was contemplating a higher wattage amp but now, no need. This speaker pushed out way more sound than the stock speaker and for my little 50W amp it's more than enough. I play an old Ibanez Bob Weir electric with two humbuckers in clubs sizes of ~200 people without much trouble being heard above that dang loud Keith Moonish drummer. The sound reproduction was very similar to the previous fender and took only a small amount of settings adjustment to get back to my original sound (as near as my bleeding ears could tell). For the general musician, and I would claim the seasoned veteran, the "British Tone" moniker is a bit silly...you can't really tell with today's effects what the speaker is doing as all high efficiency speakers sound very similar and I just want something that won't blow up during a gig. I hope it lasts with all the abuse I'll give it...we'll see.Now I've had this and abused it for a year and a half now and it still sounds great. Good buy.Update again, Oct 2013. Still a champ despite my abuse. And again, July 2015 & still rockin and I can't believe I haven't blown it yet.

An absolutely AWESOME speaker. Slightly more mid-rangey/British sounding than the Modeling 12 (which Eminence no longer makes and which I also absolutely LOVED), and a GREAT all-around rock guitar speaker. Why spend the mortgage money for the Celestion V30 when you can have this speaker, that does everything the V30 does AND sounds better doing it for a price you can't beat? 120 watts handling power? You will NEVER blow these up and you'll always sound amazing trying to. I just replaced 4 Celestion Greenbacks in a Marshall 1960TV cabinet to use with my Marshall Plexi 50 watt, and I am NOT looking back. Another reviewer expressed some concern that these might be "too dark" to use with humbuckers, but that's all I play, and there is no issue with at at all; if anything, I don't have to keep the treble or presence cranked on the amp anymore. Bottom line: You can hunt forever, and read all the hype about this one and that one, but you can't beat this speaker. Stop thinking about it and just get as many as you need. You will NOT regret it.

Good Speaker for small tube amp
I got this the other day to put in a 1x12 cabinet for my Fender Super Champ Head, I had a Cannabis Rex but it got moved to its intended home in my Fender Blues Jr. It is not as loud as the CB, but it sounds great, just push up the volume a little to get the sound I was used too.Great price, Great speaker. I am a Eminence fan, I have a Cannabis Rex, Texas Heat and now the Legend V12...all worth having!

Good speaker, great price, great sound.
I can compare this directly to 4 other speakers I have bought over the past year. The V12 is tighter than a WGS ET-65 but nearly as warm. Warmer than an Emenence Tonkerlight, does not flub out when you hit it with a lot of low end from a powerful amp like the regular Tonker did for me. Vaguely similar to a WGS Veteran 30 but without the high mid hump. I really like this speaker for hard rock and punk. It is really a 4-star speaker but I have it 5 stars because it costs less than ANY of those other speakers.A good all-around speaker from a respected brand with decades of experience.

Smooth
I ran house music through two of these for several hours, put them in two Lopo Line 1X12 cabinets and played a blues and R&B gig. These sound better than my EV 12-ls, Celestion Vintage 30s and my Eminence 1218s. I use a Strat with a fair amount of gain and the line between harsh and dull can be thin and hard to EQ right but these fit in with my gear nicely so I can take care of everything with the guitar's tone controls. These may be too dark if you are a humbucking guy but are sweet with single coils. A nice solid singing mid range, lots of oomph in the lows with just enough presence and bite in the highs. Tone wise it sounds a lot like a Celestion greenback.

A great speaker capable of searing highs and sweet lows and doing it at a very reasonable cost.
A SONIC treasure of tone from very low to very high tonal characteristics. I run one 12" speaker on my speaker cabinet along with two more identical speakers in my 120 watt amplifier. Speakers are 120 watt 8 ohm units. Loud but very sweet.
