Cat Mate Titanium Shell Pet Fountain with Polymer Carbon Filter and Isolated Pump System, 100 fl. oz.

Bought this for my 15 year old cat who is now an indoor cat much to his dismay. He was regularly flipping his water bowls which is why I bought this unit. He refused to drink from it for 2 days. Now he loves it. One review said the cat can move the unit. But it holds 10 cups of water in the base when it's not running so it's pretty heavy. I also put it on a skid proof mat. Once it is running, the top probably holds 2 to 3 cups of water. I am refilling it with 2 to 3 cups of water every 2 to 3 days. Very easy to assemble, small footprint and the motor is unbelievably quiet. I only gave it a 4 on ease of cleaning because I haven't disassembled the pump thing to clean that yet. That doesn't need to be done for a month. 5/2020. So I've been using this for awhile now. It's great. Easy to clean. You do need white vinegar to clean the little motor. You also need a tweezer to pull the magnet out of the motor casing. I change the filter once a month. Every three days, I rinse the whole unit out and rinse off the filter. A lot of food particles build up inside. I never noticed that when I was using just a water bowl. So I think the flowing water is rinsing out his mouth. That's a good thing.

This is much better than a stainless steel fountain I recently bought. My cat didn't like the metallic taste of that one. This unit is easy to clean, quiet, and filters out contaminants fairly effectively (keep in mind none of these fountain filters kill bacteria). I do find it interesting the other cat mate fountain claims to be BPA free and this one makes no such claim, so I guess this one has BPA in it? I dunno. Nevertheless, I like it. It's cheap and the pumps in these units last forever. The motors on my old pet mates that were identical to these never failed and they were used for like 10 years. I replace the water every day (bacteria, see above), and clean it once a week. I soak the filter in a solution of alcohol and water and they spray it out with water. I can usually get a month out of the filter doing this.

Used to have the smaller / lower petmate fountain which I had originally considered top of its class as far as pet fountains. With multiple cats, we more frequently had to top it off and change the filters before we discovered this larger model. The increased capacity is advantageous not only as you don’t need to fill up / top it off as frequently, but also having a larger body of water in the reservoir, it takes longer for it to get dirty. The larger reservoir also allows for running one or two filters at a time. I run the older style filters (which are available elsewhere on Amazon, both OEM and aftermarket), two at a time, and we’re able to go a couple weeks before having to change the filters out. Biggest pro though is ease of cleaning. The older, smaller model we owned had many recesses and cavities that would pool with water while running in the dishwasher, so I had to drill some strategic holes to allow that water to drain while running in the dishwasher. This newer, larger model separates much more easily and doesn’t have the complex cavities that are harder to clean. It breaks down easily to be tossed into the dishwasher and can be filled from the faucet without spilling. Added bonus, the additional height is perfect for an older cat that might have trouble bending down to reach a lower water dish. All in all, this is the best cat water fountain I’ve found to date. There’s no gimmicky bells and whistles to break. It’s simple without being featureless, is well made, has a huge reservoir, and takes ubiquitous filters, easy to clean, and the cats love it.

I had a different fountain from the same brand & didn't want to get different filters, so I bought this. It hold 3× the water as my 1st fountain & all 3 cats love it. It's also fairly easy to clean & runs very quietly (until it needs water or to be cleaned). The only major issue was that it was hard for my kitten to use for a few weeks because he was so tiny & the water was up too high. He just climbed up into it, though.

I’ve had several different pet fountains, and cat mat is the best. I wanted to write a review to say thank you. Anyone who deals with cleaning and refilling these things knows they can be a real pain but are worth the energy for keeping pets healthy. This brand in particular is obviously designed with this in mind, with the least amount of parts that are easier to handle, take apart, and put together. We have two of the larger cat mate model, and I was ecstatic to see that this one uses the same filters, as well, another time saver. We’ve had them for a couple years and they’re both still going strong. I know that the company makes dog mate too, so I imagine those are comparably good. This smaller closed model is so easy to use. It has handles on the bottom and grooves on the top edges of the bowl right where you grab - it doesn’t go unnoticed when compared to other brands with clunkier and multiple parts - making the chore dreadful every time. In addition, their fountains have a separate plug on the cord, so you don’t have to unplug the entire cord when cleaning, making it more accessible with much less wire to juggle. It’s never going to be fun to keep the cat fountains clean and filled, but at least this reliable brand makes it as easy as possible. It is much appreciated!

Yes, easy to clean. Yes, easy to assemble. Yes, it's quiet. Yes, my cats use it. Yes, I would recommend - in fact, I have - a friend of mine bought one because I was so happy with mine.

The water spout doesn’t sit properly like it did in the first one we had (this is the second one). When I set the spout all the way in its spot, water doesn’t fall from the front. It just comes up around the base. It may as well not even be there. If I futz with it enough, I can get it to work for a while but that means constantly checking it. Wish I could’ve just bought a new motor for the old fountain. Otherwise, it’s quiet and easy to clean. Our cats love it.

After trying other fountains & them breaking after only a month, I LOVE this one! Have had it 6 months now. Its super easy to assemble & clean. My cat loves it too!! So if you're looking for a fountain that's not too expensive but will last for months, THIS is the one!! You wont regret it. I absolutely stand by this one & would definitely recommend it.

The pump has three rubber legs but one leg in the pump is falling and can’t be put back because the hole is too small. I am afraid the cat end up eating this or it falls in the sink when I change the water . There is no option to request for replacement pump and only option is to return but we waited more than a month for it to arrive. Not sure what to do here. I hope the seller can step in and suggest a solution
