A Door into History: Exploring Coat of Arms
As a token of goodwill (since the author Andrew Stewart Jamieson connected with me on Pinterest) I am cordiallywriting this review. Andrew Stewart Jamieson's ("Queen's Scribe and Illuminator")art collections are foundonline. His wife Candice Jamieson is an artist who draws creatively with a touch of juvenile fantasy and aburst of assorted colours. The book "Coat of Arms" is a concise summary of the vital facts from thesystem of heraldry. The designs within the book are magnificently displayed featuring important historicreferences and it includes definitions of key heraldic terminology. The author divides the book withtitles pertaining to coat of arms elements and regulations. It succinctly illustrates the major partsfound in the coat of arms. Therefore, it facilitates (with demonstration) the proper construction ofa coat of arms for those willing to build one.Furthermore, it heartens and involves the readers to prize such intricate and ornate designs that wereand still are integral to represent nations, persons, companies, places and so forth. This book will be a pride and joy to lovers of history,to artists, to the military, royalty, historians, to persons of great interest and to all whom desire to enter the realm ofregality, honour, valour, and chivalry. For history has come alive once again by the perpetuationof past and current coat of arms designs.Bless the heraldic artistry! In good faith,Cleopatra Fitzgerald

Beautiful art and good explanation of heraldry
This short book is full of lovely art and a good short history and explanation of heraldry as used in the United Kingdom. It shows historical coats of arms and also shows how they are created using color, charges and divisions on the device. Good for a beginner SCA herald or anyone just interested in the art and science of heraldry.

A Visual Feast of Heraldry
This is a lavishly illustrated booklet by 'Queen's' Scribe and Illuminator Andrew Stewart Jamieson. In 29 pages, it succeeds in providing both a cogent overview of heraldry and a stunning array of heraldic art. I am always pleased to discover some new fine detail when I re-visit this wonderful little read.

A lavishly illustrated and in-expensive introduction into the joys of heraldry.
Heraldry is all around us in churches, on monuments, etc. It is also the genealogical record of families if you know how to read them.It is also all about colour and the author has packed the pages with plenty of examples while taking the reader through the basics of how it all started, along with the basic building blocks of how each is composed.Hopefully this book will encourage readers to want to learn more but beware! Heraldry can become an addictive and all absorbing past-time or even an ultimate career.
