Irish SetterAshby, Men's, 6", Aluminum Safety Toe, Work Boot

I finally broke down and bought a new pair of Irish Setters since in last few months the toe has started to wear out. I bought my first pair in Sept of 2021. I got to say I’m very impressed with the durability of them and overall have been great boot! I’m a diesel technician so I’m on my feet all day, jumping up and down off of trucks and have never had sore feet after getting home at night. Also I work with a bunch of different solvents and fluids which I was worried about when I first purchased these boots because I thought the harshness of the fluids would prematurely wear out the soles but that wasn’t the case at all! Would definitely recommend them to anyone in the trades and if you can change out the insoles for a more custom fit for your foot.

Great looking boots, really good quality. I just suggest buying some good insoles for comfort.

We did our research and everything we found indicated that Irish Setters were the best boots for working on roofs. My son installs solar panels, and more often than not, that puts him on a roof. What he's found with these is that they are great for shingle roofs, but terrible on a metal roof. They don't provide any traction on metal, so he ended up sliding, which can be a hazard. In every other aspect, he says these are terrific work boots, and he wears them daily unless he's going to be working on a metal roof. The boots are well made and durable, and he says they're comfortable as far as work boots go - a little snug at the toe, but other than that, a good fit. What he ended up with was he wears these most days, but he carries a backup pair for days when they're working on a metal roof.

This is my fiancés third pair of these boots. We buy work boots about every 6 months and he loves these so much. He is flat footed so the wedge does not hurt his arch. They have lasted fairly well. Working around asphalt does render the tread on the bottom almost useless, but that has happened in all his wedged boots. Also saved his toes from being crushed by a skidsteer bucket right before buying this pair.

Comfortable right out the box

These were expensive boots for a teenager. He only had for 7 months and toes already complete worn off. He only works part time and they didn’t last a year. The sole isn’t worn and they’re very comfortable, but toes already worn down to steel toe.

Took them out of the box yesterday, put them on my feet, and wore them for 10+ hours. Wore them again all day today, and spent at least half my day on a ladder. Yeah, my feet are a little sore, but no blisters or real problems to speak of, and I’m not even wearing proper boot socks.They look good, too. Got my first compliment at work today.A few thoughts:* The color is darker than I expected. Almost espresso. Nice, but the belt I bought to match... doesn’t. I’ll need to get a new one.* They run large. I wear a 13D in almost every other brand of boot or shoe, but in these, I’m a 12D.* The toe box has plenty of room. I’ve had to return other brands of safety toe boots due to fit problems in the toe, but these are just right.* You can (and should) experiment with lacing patterns to dial in the fit. Google “how to lace boots” for some suggestions if you’re not sure where to start.* The included laces aren’t great; do yourself a favor and spend the extra ten bucks on a nicer set. I went with 45” Honey Badgers and they’re perfect.* They don’t have much arch support. My next upgrade may be a set of insoles.Overall, I’m very impressed with these boots, and my minor complaints aren’t worth losing a star over. I’ve had my eye on a pair of Red Wing moc-toes for years, but I never got over the sticker shock. These are a great alternative for half the price.

These don't have the green patch because they don't meet puncture resistance ratings, however they are what you expect from Red Wings - well built and comfortable. If you can find a better made boot for that price point let me know..

Estás botas están formidables .....solo q son algo amplias ya q yo tengo pie delgado y se miran más grandes q una bota cat ....las uso todo el día sin problemas ....son robustas pero ese es su estilo ....si eres amante d botas d trabajo t encantarán combinan con jeans bermudas y skinys

es un producto de alta calidad, son un poco pesadas y si no estas acostumbrado a este tipo de calzado te costara trabajo adaptarte pero en general super bien, como consejo pide medo numero menos del que calzas ya que viene un poco grande.

Very comfortable boot right from the first hour easy to remove foot at end of day no prying your foot out I like and recommend these because I wear them 10 hours a day....
