After the first one wore out, I had to replace it with some chinesium stopgapthat wore out in less than a year, because the Rothco was temporarily unavailable, but it appears that the reason it was temporarily unavailable is that the detachable sleeves now have windproof/rainproof liners, a welcome upgrade.The Rothco is well made, well thought out, and fits well, with usefully designed pockets in sensible places. (The pockets on some other cheaper utility vests are just ... weird. I can't for the life of me figure out what some of them were intended for.) The left outside pocket will swallow a 10" Android tablet, and the two on the right will swallow a glasses case each, or, you know, other things about that size. D-rings are provided in a couple of useful places that you can snap S-biners onto, and it has a full-length zipper instead of the weird short one-third-zipper typical of most safari vests. The large rear pocket is a good place for a folded stuff-sack or spaceblanket.Short version: You can rely on the Rothco to get the job done when you need to get the job done. Two Technical Thug thumbs up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good jacket with quality assembly, but with a couple of poor design choices *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2020* This is a really well-made jacket, but even with the sleeves removed it is probably too heavy for to wear in hot weather. A couple of things keep me from giving it a fifth star. The wrists are closed with with strong limited-stretch elastic, which makes rolling up the sleeves to any significant degree impossible, though one can do a single-fold rollback of the cuffs. Thus the jacket is basically a no-sleeve heavy vest or full-sleeve garment Also, hook-and-loop patches have been used to secure pocket flaps, which I find an inappropriate choice. My preference is always for snap or large button closure. Others may feel differently.The jacket has strong and even reinforced stitching except for the bottom edge of the garment. There is a shallow vent located centrally in the back panel and two more at the sides where the back panel is joined to the left or right front panels. These look as though they might rip up into the body fabric if some fixed strong object were to be sideswiped or inadvertently hooked while the wearer of the jacket is in motion. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent for late spring to early fall. *by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2021* Very thin, gaps allow lots of air flow. Good for summer as a vest, not bad for late fall and early spring when it's not too cold or windy. Large vents in the back allow for a lot of air flow which is great in summer, not so good when it's cold. Pockets are nicely laid out, and useable.The stitching seems to be a bit shoddy though. Lots of loose ends, not just a small amount either.
