Buyer be ware! NOT 14 AWG
Buyer be ware, this is *NOT* 14 AWG. This is an 18 AWG cable. I had to cut it to put on a 220v plug and didn't notice that it wasn't actually 14 AWG until it was too late. I also noticed that the interior quality was nowhere near the quality of Tripp Lite power cables. Be careful!!!

This Cable is NOT 14 gauge.
This cable is NOT 14 gauge. Otherwise, it looks and feels to be high quality. However, when a device draws enough current to require a 14 gauge cable, it's not safe to substitute a cable made from thinner gauge wire. In my case, the original power cord that came with my device is much thicker than this cable. The original is marked 14 AWG and rated at 15 amps -- the same specs the cable from SF Cable is supposed to have. The original cable did not get hot in use. This one does.

They do what they're supposed to do. I like the extra length. Decent price.
They work. Hard to say much more about what is essentially an extension cord. They are a bit stiff, and if you've had them curled in a case before using, they want to keep the kinks and curls of their stored position. Not much you can do about it, especially since it's 14 gauge wire (good, because of the length) rather than the common 16 Gauge, which is a bit thinner. I use them on my Eon speakers, which are self-powered and need to be plugged into 110-120 house current. When they are mounted six to eight feet above the deck, the six-foot original equipment cords often don't reach the floor, let alone an outlet. Even if these don't quite reach the outlet, you don't have extension cord sockets hanging half-way up the pole, since these will reach at least to the floor.

This cable isn't fat.. It's just big boned..
I actually ordered the cheaper 18awg cable that was less than half the price of this here on amazon, then read a few reviews saying that particular 18awg cable was getting hot, or had even burned in places. That scared me enough to cancel the order for the 18awg and order this 14awg. This is much thicker than your standard PC power cable. You pull it out of the package and you can tell it's beefy. But still very flexible.I bought it to use on a projector. Which isn't that high of wattage, but so glad I bought this cable over the cheaper and thinner 14awg and risking it. The $8 more I paid for this over the 18awg one is worth the security and peice of mind.

The only power cord you should use for Powered Speakers or Amps.
These are great. Very heavy duty.I was using the 16 gauge cords for a JBL EON G2's. (about 400w)A very powerful speaker but didn't really draw a lot of power from the wall. When I used 16 gauge with a 1200 watt powered speaker, they got hot. With expensive gear, it doesn't make sense to buy cheap cables and power cords.Definitely worth the extra money, safer to use and safer for the equipment

Long power cable for power-hungry PC
I have one of these power cables running a PC that I intend to upgrade shortly to draw over 1KW. The common 18AWG cable I had before got a little warm (and the PC draws less than 750W now), but this 14AWG cable does not seem to do that. I will revise this if I see problems once I have the PC upgraded to its planned level.Update: Works fine with no noticeable cable warming even with the system upgraded where it can draw 1KW continuous and surge to a bit more than that.

Not as advertised, unsafe to use at 15A
Listing and packaging says it is for a 15A cable, but the head clearly has 10A printed on it. This item is not the one pictured, and is dangerous to use at the advertised current.

Short and Sweet
I hate cable clutter on my desk.I purchased two of these power cables to replace long AC cables on my dual HP monitors.I have a power strip behind the monitors so 1 ft was a perfect length.I selected these cables because they are heavy gauge wire and that seemed safer than a thinner wire that might run hotter. I learned that the female connector is called an IEC C13 which is useful to know.$5.95 with free 2-day shipping (Prime). They do the job. What else can you say about AC power cables.
