This product works fine but I wish the ad noted more clearly that it DOES NOT OPERATE WITHOUT FUEL CANISTER. I purchased the item and set it aside for use on dessert at party I hosted last night. When I opened the device to crisp up the top of my dessert, I discovered the torch had no fuel. I had to run to the store in my middle of my party. The device looks like it houses a canister already.

I used my Ever Chef Torch for the first time tonight. Made Mexican Ice Cream. It was awesome and so easy. The torch is so much easier to use than the oven. And also fun. Wouldn't all my grandchildren love to see this. Maybe next time. I found plenty of recipes on line and adapted them to what I thought would work. Everyone loved it. I would recommend this torch wholeheartedly. My next project this week will be to make carmelized onions. Also, never again will I have to toast nuts, etc. for baking and cooking. Charged it up and it works great. The flame is a little sloppy and does not appear to be as strong as in the picture, but I'm sure it will work just fine in my kitchen. Update. Used torch to Crispin meat and it worked great. I did notice that the butane refills with a thin tube work but leak during refill. I guess I need to find a larger tube refill.

Since it was Christmas, had my grandson install the butane and light an outdoor gas torch.for a party. However, have lost the instructions for using in the manner intended (culinary), and please have Ever Chef email me instructions or supply me with their email address. A search of the internet and Amazon has provided no info.. Grandson liked it.

This thing EATs butane, and that's my main complaint. If this is something you'll use occasionally, that would be fine. But if you're intending on using this a lot, I'd go with a torch that has a larger base. That being said, it rips amazingly and is so user-friendly. It just goes through butane so dang fast that for me I wouldn't recommend it.

This item holds the flame, but takes a while to brown sugar on creme brulee. It also uses up more propane than I thought it would use. (Buy extra cartridges. Amazon has them cheaper than most stores.) I do like the self lighting feature. Makes the product seem safer and it is less hassle than needing a match/lighter. I would not buy this product again, but I will use it while it lasts.

I ordered another competitors torch first. It didn’t work properly. I tried to go to the manufacturer and all they said was send it back to Amazon. This company on the other hand did wonderful. Not only was this torch less money and better designed, it worked great. In addition, as soon as I had it the company contacted me to see if I liked it. They cared. I can recommend this torch completely and I use it for certain dishes after cooking them Sous Vide.

Works good, once I figured out the different knobs and levers. Easy to direct the flame, feels good in the hand. I just wish it had a fuel indicator -- not sure how much to put in or what will happen if I overfill it.
