Captain Awesome Gets Crushed (9)

My 6 year old is obsessed with Captain Awesome. He even dressed as Captain Awesome for Halloween! He received this book for Christmas and was done with it in else's than a day. He sat down and read the whole thing in about 45 minutes. He only has two complaints about this book. 1. He wishes they were longer. 2. He wishes there were more books, or even a t.v. show. Happy he has found a positive kid character he feels he can relate to!

Captain Awesome is a great series for emergent readers! They will laugh out loud at the captain's adventures and terrific illustrations which compliment the chapter book. I've had students who never show interest in reading beg for the titles in this series. Keep up the great work Captain!

I got this book for my grandson who will be six soon and who is entering kindergarten. He reads on at least a second grade level. However the book does not have colorful pictures, only drawings and he showed no interest in it at all. We will put it away until he is older. I really can't accurately rate the book for this reason but will just give it a three.

My son is in first grade and is a very reluctant reader but he loves the story line in all of the Captain Awesome books. Stan Kirby is brilliant! He completely understands what it means to be a boy who is 5, 6, or 7. Mr. Kirby's humor is hysterically funny! I recommend this book series to everyone I know who has a child in the appropriate age category. I'm 45 years old and I like to see the story unfold!

Awesome for first or second grade readers!

We read this series to our 6 yr old grandson at bedtime. Usually have to finish in the morning. He knows all the characters and is excited to see what happens next. This was no exception. Lots of fun.

My grandson loves this series. Great for an 8 year old boy.

Grandson (5 years old) was very pleased with this gift at Xmas.
