Clamp Meter, Digital Multimeter 600 Amp TRMS 6000 Counts NCV with AC Current AC/DC Voltage Test Resistance Continuity Capacitance Temperature Measure Auto-Ranging - Tacklife CM02A

My previous digital multimeter died recently and I was going to purchase a replacement and opted for this one after doing a little research. First, I had a non-clamp multimeter and once I realized that those are only good for <10 amps, I concluded that the clamp type was the way to go. Also, I was also confused on what range to set my old meter to in order to get accurate measurements, so I wanted one with an auto-range feature. After that, I wanted something that was intuitive and easy to use since I'm not the type of guy who has the patience to read an owner's manual that more than likely is translated from Chinese and has the bulk of the content about how not to electrocute oneself. Last, I'm kind of cheap but expect decent quality, so I confined my searches for meters under $35.This meter has delivered on all fronts. The project I purchased it for was to identify and repair an electrical issue serving my pool pump. I was able to measure 120 and 240 voltage, measure current, and test continuity - it was almost too easy. After a couple weeks of beating my head against the wall, this little meter helped me find the issue and perform the repair.The quality of the meter appears decent - about what one would expect for $25. If I get a year or two our of it, I'll consider it a success, but I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts much longer than that. The settings are intuitive, the auto-range works flawlessly, and the display is highly visible. It also has a nice auto-off feature that powers it down after 10 minutes of inactivity, which as already saved me from replacing the batteries on a couple of occasions. I highly recommend this meter!

I work as electric .. from work we have fluke meters ... let me tell you this meter does exactly same operation as my work tool at fractions of cost .You just put batteries ... turn nub at settings you need ...and it show you measurements.. you need to go thru any adjustments. This device can be used by individuals who newer used meter before.Digits a big , also can press button on side to ge white backlight. Its has a HOLD feature.Can check amperage, voltage, temperature, continuity... check capacitor...With clam on top check amperage with out using a lids.So far I very happy with my new meter

It has the standard testing features, Amperage, Voltage AC/DC, Resistance, Line Continuaty.The features that exceeded my expectations for a Meter in this price range are:1.- Capacitor testing2.- Temperature Reading °C/°F3.- Frequency Measurement through Clamp and input leads4.- Back lightVery good value!

This meter is useful and accurate. It accurately measures AC current to 600 A, AC and DC voltage to 600V, resistance to 6000Ω. Which makes it the perfect troubleshooting tool to help you solve automotive or household electrical problems. You can use it to measure the blocked voltage when connected to the wire for more accurate measurement. You can also use its low pass filter for measuring low-frequency signals with the tip clamp.The display is easy to read and record because it has a backlight. You don't run out of juice if you leave it on, it will cut off in 10minutes automatically. The unit comes with a nice case to keep it protected. This is a really well appointed tool for the price point.

I was long overdue to own one of these. Right out of the package I tested the clamp on a live extension cord and got a positive reading. Comes with a temp sensor as well which is cool. Near as I can tell, I'm getting accurate results on all the testing I do. I'm not using every single type of test available, but the basic stuff like measuring voltage is working great. It's also a small unit and comes with a very functional case, so it's easy to throw it in a bag and not worry that it will be damaged or something. Highly recommend!

This is a high quality meter at a surprisingly low price. Thirty years ago, a similar meter would cost at Radio Shack well over $100. Despite inflation during the past 30 years, this meter is of better quality and a lower price today. I use this meter to measure the power consumption of all my electrical appliances and computers in order to get a better understanding what causes my high electricity bill. When not using the meter for an extended period of time, please remove the battery from the inside. Batteries tend to leak causing corrosion inside the meter. Some batteries are more prone to do that than others. It depends on the manufacturer of the battery.

This is a good meter for the price unless you need to perform non-contact DC current measurements. It does perform non-contact AC current measurements, but not DC. I gave this meter to my son and purchased a different meter that can perform non-contact DC current measurements. Non-contact DC current measurement is necessary for troubleshooting automotive current draw issues.
