Able Motion MobilityPortable Plate for Left Foot Accelerator

So, a clubbed foot has proven to not be able to handle the accelerator in my car making me a clubbed footed driver for life. This plate makes the left foot adapters (there seems to be two on the market) into portable versions allowing you to avoid drilling holes into your car.I was a little nervous about it at first until my mechanic who was helping me adjust and install it properly pointed out that it works with simple physics- since your right foot is naturally going to rest on the plate, it's going to automatically help to hold the assembly where it is while you're driving with your left. The rest of what holds it there is weight and friction between the rug beneath it and the textured bottom of the plate itself.So far, using the whole assembly for a month or so of daily driving, I've only had to adjust the left foot pedal part of it (which isn't on the plate but if you're getting the plate, you've got an assembly you're going to put it onto) because it worked itself loose just a little over time (not surprising, I could tell that was going to happen the moment everything came in the mail and that there's just no helping that part).Anyway, we marked where the best placement is with some duct tape on the floor of the vehicle which makes it easy to check to see if it's shifted during use when I get in but so far, it really hasn't or, if it has, it's been so rare or so minor that I haven't even noticed.I really do recommend this plate for anyone who's forced to become a left footed driver either temporarily or permanently because it saves the resale value of your car and also allows you to move it from vehicle to vehicle as need develops.Thank you.

I like the plate ok bit the pedal that is meant to be assembled on the plate did not line up with holes in the plate and the stability of the pedal was weak. The plate was fine because I had another pedal that I was ablr to make work with it. I would expect some nèed for metal work to make it what you need it to be.

The unit needs professional installation snd adjustment. Regardless it's still unsafe, I felt very insecure with my foot on the brake due to the framework of the accelerator mounting. I am fortunately able to use my right leg on the accelerator and the left on the brake. Some people my like it, but I didn't. Think twice before buying it. Hand controls would be much safer.

It looks good, but I need it to function. I installed my left foot accelerator pedal from my previous car onto the plate, placed it into the rental. It moves around too easily. I am 6' tall with a c-5 spinal cord injury and 2 back surgeries in 2014 then 2015. I am pretty stiff. Therefore, I needed something to stay in place, and this didn't. Can I return it?Thank you

I found it to dangerous to use only my left foot to accelerate and brake.
