JawayTool Rubber Grommets Kit & Plug Wire Ring Assortment Set Electrical Gasket Tools - 125 - Pieces

I use to be able to find grommets like this at the local auto parts or hardware store. Now, at least in my area, they all seem to carry exactly the same "display" of products which only relate to specific applications and do not lend themselves to custom work. I needed to drill a couple of holes in my car for a project and wanted to seal the holes properly around the wires I was running. This kit is a perfect mix and I found the sizes I needed. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that the rubber used in the product is not of a very high quality and left a little to be desired with regard to flexibility. It was hard to work the grommet into the hole if you tried to use the right size. The rubber would permanently deform. Even tried to heat them up a little. Ultimately had to use a size larger that got into the hole OK but was a little looser than I desired.

I installed a reverse camera and needed to drill a hole through my trunk big enough for an RCA cable to fit, but being that the cord was smaller than the RCA head I needed to seal up the hole with the smaller wire through it.I ended up using a solid grommet, drilled a small hole in the middle and then cut it halfway in order to slip it over the cord and into the hole. I then used a dab of super glue to seal the grommet back up.It worked like a charm and made for a professional looking install. It's been installed for a number of months now and I haven't had any issues with water leaking through or into my trunk through the hole. I've been very pleased with this purchase. I just wish I could find other projects where I could use the other 124 pieces.

Product is well made and seems to be of good quality. I bought the kit the close some holes in my firewall on my Nova project and run some wires that where just going through the firewall with no protection. The kit was great because of the variety of grommet sizes. The ones I thought I would need didn't fit like I wanted them too and having the kit made it possible to try other sizes for the best fit. I highly recommend this kit for anyone with a auto project and needing to close open holes or run wires through a firewall or wherever on a vehicle or other similar project. The first strike against this product was that the plastic case was broken in one corner. It was shipped in a padded envelope which obviously doesn't provide enough protection for all the jostling a package goes through in the back of a UPS truck. Like many other reviewers I also found the rubber gaskets and plugs to be very stiff and difficult to work with. I haven't purchased other products like this so can't really compare to the ease of use of other products. That being said, the kit does provide a nice assortment of parts that might come in handy when you least expect it so I've decided to keep it.

These Grommets seem a bit stiffer than what I'm used to using. I haven't actually installed one yet but from comparing them to what I purchased from my local electrical supplier, these seem to be stiff. Nice variety to have on stock for automotive projects and general tinkering around. I like the plugs for what they are designed to do, and sometimes I need to create a grommet for a cable that has an end on it, these can be slit or fashioned to work. I still would recommend buying these for your automotive sound system repair or general customizations.

Love the generous number of many sized grommets in this collection. Can't imagine that I won't be able to find one in here every time I need one for a DIY project.But be warned you won't want to use any of these around living spaces. This cheap chinese rubber, like so much of the rubber on other chinese manufactured parts, stinks to high heaven. The odor is really off-putting. If you handle these grommets, the odor gets on your fingers and will torture you until you wash your hands well.

As opposed to hard plastic ones, these soft rubbery grommets are what i was looking for. Concerning the odor of these grommets - while it's true that when i opened the box i was greeted with a very strong smell of rubber, once I removed three grommets and placed them on the chassis I was working there was no longer a lingering odor. So, a whole box of them smells very strong, but several grommets by themselves have very little, next to no odor. Take-away - keep the box closed when not in use.

All in all the grommets are good. The only problem is that one of the 3/8" X 1/2" Grommets was missing and in it's place was an extra 9/32" X 1/2" grommet. JawayTool could use some more quality control, or quantity control rather.
