hoped for better
i had hoped to find a tool to depend on.the first problem occurred when i tried to simply put this magnetic opener onto the fridge.it promptly fell onto my foot while the magnets stayed on the metal.after gorilla gluing the magnets into place and waiting a day for it to set i tried opening a wine bottle.the fulcrum on this piece is past the optimum point. the result is that the corkscrew part wants to shut on your hand.i've compensated after learning that issue and every time i open a bottle i carefully insert the screw part at an angle, making sure i'm not too vertical and past the finger squashing point. my wife won't use it.it does open bottles and champagne nicely and may well be valuable for arthritic or weak hands.as far as a wine bottle opener it does NOT pop my cork.

For picnics, it's been fine
I bought these since they were cheap and cute to stick in picnic baskets we keep in the car. We often drive out on day trips, and it's nice to have a basket with dishes, glasses, napkins, a tablecloth and a corkscrew- so you can pick up wine and food somewhere, and go to a lovely place and eat. I keep a basket in all our cars, and I have replaced a couple of old corkscrews with these. So far they've worked just fine- although they don't get much a workout. They are probably only used a couple of times a month- but when used they work just fine. I did not read the comments before I bought the corkscrews (for under 5 dollars!) and I don't think I would have bought them if I had read the comments. So if you buy one, please realize that I do not use it for every day use- and I would hate for you to be disappointed because you relied on my review- but every time we've used it, it has been fine.

Good Idea Bad Construction
The opener is a very good idea, however after opening about a case of wine the plastic housing came off. We kept it on the refrigerator and after the housing came loose the magnets would separate for the opener and stay on the fridge. We had been looking for a nice wine opener that was easy to use and this one seem to work but only for a very short period of time. Would suggest you spend your money on a better constrcted more durable opener. Giving it 2 stars for it's initial performance really deserves one.

It's like a Swiss army knife
It's a magnet you can stick to your fridge, it has everything you would ever need. Only problem I had was thatnit was missing a magnet.

tork, where?
I bought this thing solely on looks and what a mistake that was.. it looked so nice Hung on the fridge and the first time I tried taking a cork out of a bottle not only did the whole black part of the plastic assembly fall apart but the tork part is nowhere to he found... Hopefully the cork isn't in there hard cause its going to hurt... Makes a nice magnet tho.

Works Well for Stelvin screw caps!
I've purchased one for myself and 3 for gifts (different colors). They work very well IF you follow the directions exactly. Push the opener FIRMLY onto the screw cap, hold the BOTTOM of the bottle and turn the opener in the direction of the arrow (counter-clock-wise). If you don't follow the directions exactly, you risk stripping the indentations on the cap and preventing the opener from "catching". Good drinking!

Nice idea, poorly executed.
Poor quality gadget. The magnet attachment broke very shortly after we bought it. On the other hand, it was very inexpensive so I suppose you get what you pay for.

Junk
It did not work. It would not open my wine bottle. It would just spin around the cap and the cap did not move.
