Very noisy under load, but quite with loads under 25 watts.
Works well, I use it in conjunction with a solar setup to power supplementary lights for my indoor house plants. Its fine when in drawing less than 25 watts, but above that the fan inside it turns on and its very loud. Not sure if the fans going to last very long.

Definitely a true sine wave. Good deal.
Works perfectly in my solar suitcase, comprised of 24v lithium batteries and Morningstar MPPT charge controller. Verified to be a sine wave, runs small fans with induction motors, Dell charger and even a lead acid battery charger.

Not recommended for mini fridges
Struggles to power a 80 watt mini fridge Was a fully charged 500 amp hour battery

Item was DOA out of box....
Item blows fuses every time you connect it to power.Working on contacting AIMS for warranty service. Will update this review based off customer service when complete.

very happy
Well I have to say it does just what I need + .Im using 2-70 watt solar pannels and a 15 amp charge controlar, and they power a laptop, 22 inch tv, 2- 18 volt dewalt batterys,DVD player, and a 16 inch fan. The laptop and fan was all I hoped for, and it dose just fine

Shuts off trying to start a mini fridge. Will not surge to 600 watts, it will just give 4 long beeps and restart. Will be returning.

Waste of
This Inverter can't power this AquaTop SWP-4900 Aquarium Submersible Pump, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0074VUHO2/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_26It is suppose to be 300 watts pure shine inverter and can't power 125 watts pump and this pump is only draw 75 watts when it is running.Waste of money

Will not power most sub chargers. I tried this in a private plan wth 24 volt system. Buy the power barite 400 instead

Excellent value for the money -- very low idle energy draw.
TLDR; Idle/no-load energy consumption is ~120ma at 28.8V and ~205ma at 20V (low-voltage beep), which to me seems VERY GOOD for an inverter in this category. It does what it says on the tin: 300W continuous and 600W surge for very brief amount of time. The fan automatically kicks-in with load (and is still quiet) and is inaudible (maybe not even turning) at idle/no-load.I own a AIMS 3000w inverter (24V low-frequency, 9000w surge) beast at the cabin and it serves me really well; except its idle current draw is respective to its size and hurts my battery storage budget during nights doing nothing. I thought a little brother of 300w (high-frequency) wouldn't hurt for periods of low-energy-usage AND I WASN'T WRONG ! That AIMS 24V inverter is rock-solid.I did wire it up on my bench to test some of its characteristics. It outputs a very clean sine wave (see the picture on the oscilloscope), loaded or not. I tested it with a 200w immersion heater, so a purely resistive load. My test watt-meter showed 121-123V and 197W on the output side. I did very roughly wire this up to two 12V batteries in series I had lying around (not even the same size) and flimsy crocodile clips, so not very much a production-grade wiring setup and lots of voltage drop but I can still check efficiency: 22V 10.02A DC IN, 188W 120ishV AC OUT. So 220.44W IN / 188W OUT = 85% efficient at this load which is ballback around what I expected.Idle/no-load energy consumption is around 120ma at 28.8V (I tested as low as 106ma without the watt-meter plugged in) and around 205ma at 20V (at which point it starts a low-voltage beep). This is exactly what I was looking for.

Good for our needs.
Does everything I expected it to do. Runs TV DVD cpap. Don't need to run the larger 2kw inverter for 99% of our off grid needs. Runs cool to touch.2 months now and still works great. Good value in this size of pure sine inverter. Very low idle / no load current. Could use a ground terminal.1 year update. Still working great. Considering getting another one as a backup. When off the grid good to have a spare in standby and at the price it's quite reasonable.

Great quality
My third AIMS product and all are exactly as advertised, produce a nice 120v pure since output. The fan control works great. Not on when drawing low power and n kicks in when needed am n keeps the inverter cool.
