My daughter has thin arms but still finds many PJs to be too tight. These are a little bit looser than most PJs but, because of how they taper, they become more fitted on the calves and ankles. My daughter LOVES these and says they are a combination of PJs and lounge clothing. She is an average-sized 8.5-year-old and we got her 8-9s. Definitely room to grow and she will probably be able to wear them next year, but they don't feel too big or baggy. If used exclusively as underclothing you might consider going down a size if you want them to be more fitted.

Fit well, holds up after washings. Keeps warm but not too hot, does not itch sensitive skin. Nice neutral colors. 3 pairs for great price. Stretchy. Soft enough. Versatile. Not fleece, not furry on the inside. Not too thin nor thick.
