Quaranta Soft Nougat Crème Bars Summer Fruits 100 g

Quaranta nougat had been previously purchased in a few flavours when imported by a local trader. Several family members are especially partial to this confection and various French, Spanish and Italian brands had been also purchased at different times. Italian nougat tends to be soft and sweet, which may be sometimes balanced by whatever fruit and nuts are incorporated but it should also be remembered that the Italians are especially fond of making and eating candied fruits which are often used as decorations for cakes and desserts, in cassata, as table decorations especially at Christmas or just eaten as a confection either alone or, as here, within bars and nougat 'cakes' and sold in wedges. It is some of those candied fruits which have selectively been incorporated in these.The order was for 2 packs of Quaranta Soft Nougat Crème Bars Summer Fruits 100 g one of which was intended as a gift and the other for family consumption with the intention to sample a variety of fruit flavours. However, as another reviewer had indicated, Amazon in the wisdom of its staff at a Fulfilment Centre, had selected a pack of Sour Cherry and another of Strawberry completely defeating the originally intended object.In each instance, there is a visually similar amount of fruit and nuts within each bar and a reasonable amount of nougat. As with other nougat from this brand, it isn't over-sweet, hard or chewy but delightfully soft and easy to cut with a knife.The nougat is top quality, very more-ish and a single bar is good for at least six, and probably, eight portions. It is a shame that there was a failure to supply the product requested and this has brought down the score to 4-stars.

I bought the pack of nougat as part of a friend's birthday present and found one of the bars was slightly out of shape when it arrived so I kept that one for myself. It was the most delicious nougat I have ever had. I keep looking it up and wondering if I should indulge myself and order again, just for me, but the product is not cheap. However it is so good I think it's worth paying more but it does mean, for me at least, it's something of a luxury item. If money isn't tight then I'd highly recommend it. The friend I bought it for enthused about it too. Absolutely delicious.

The nougat itself is absolutely delicious, I have absolutely no complaints there. However, rather than receiving the 5 different flavours as the description seemed to infer I ended up with 4 lemon and 1 strawberry. Would have loved to try the other ones but unsure if I will order again in case the same happens twice.

This is beautifully soft nougat. You clearly understand you're eating something significantly better than average. Classy and delicious. A gourmet treat.

I bought these so I can half-dip them in tempered dark chocolate. The nougat is utterly delicious, not too sweet and cramped full of nuts and fruit flavour. Really nice product and I will be buying again.

I ordered the summer fruits assortment and was looking forward to trying a selection. Unfortunately what arrived was 5 identical bars of tropical fruit.Very sweet and disappointing as they are all the same.
