This is sooooo quiet you cannot hear it. It doesn not spray as far as claimed, but its still very good and the ease of adjusting the spray area was way simpler than a rainbird. I would buy this again in a minute. The base is good too, it slides easily across the grass and is just heavy enough to support the pressure of the spray. Highly recommended.

My favorite sprinkler
Love these sprinklers! They are easy to set up and move around, quiet, and run great on lower water pressures. Even though they are plastic they run well and last in the Texas heat.

A good sprinkler, believable price, a couple faults.
I'd say you're pretty lucky if you're able to get by with one type of sprinkler. For me there is no such thing as one that will do it all. The virtue of this one is that it is so adjustable, and I frequently make adjustments for different areas and wind conditions. You have to learn how to do the adjustments, but after several uses, all of it becomes automatic. It's one of my most used sprinklers. It has one manufacturing defect, Where you screw in the hose it leaks on the far side of the hose. This is either poor quality control or very loose (sloppy) manufacturing tolerances. My main complaint in design (as opposed to sloppy implementation) is that the sled (the part that should be touching the ground) is far to light. The weight of the hose, for example, could easily prevent it from sitting flat, especially if the terrain is not horizontal. I frequently have to re set the position of the hose to get the sprinkler to stay where I want it. I may epoxy a pipe filled with sand into the bottom side of the rails. On mine, the sprinkling mechanism works flawlessly. If you're going to complain about uneven water distribution, I wonder what you are comparing it to. It isn't even, it is seriously effected by breeze or wind, but if set to the same distance N/S and E/W - it's very good. I am going to keep using this despite the faulty hose connector.Oh yeah, it's quiet, but that isn't much of a consideration for me.

2nd best sprinkler of 3
Bought 3 sprinklers at once to water new sod and seeded areas after some hardscaping. Here is how I rank them after a couple of weeks of daily use.The best is the Gardena ZoomMaxx Oscillating -- love the weighted base, love the wealth of controls that allow you to hit all of the area you want and not much of the area you don't. Feels like this one wasted the least water.Second is Irrigator Pro 525054. Love the head on this one, but the base is way too light to keep in one place. It definitely puts water where I want it, but it puts a considerable amount where I don't, too. I moved this head to a tripod and love the combo of that 10x as much as having it on the light sled.Last is the Orbit 56667N Zinc Impact Sprinkler on Tripod. Love the tripod, hate the sprinkler, it puts a ton of water where you don't want it and not nearly enough where you do.

Hard to Use
I use this to water my lawn. I like the simplicity of its design. You just have to move the little yellow guides to water your space. Sounds easy, doesn't it? They won't budge unless the water is going through the sprinkler. One of my guides won't move even then; I have to push as hard as I can, and try again and again to get it right. Also, if you don't send a lot of water through it, the sprinkler won't work itself around; it just stays in one place. So it is no good for watering the small areas. But it does do a good job on the large areas, once you get it set up. Setting up the one I received requires a lot of time and patience. I cuss it a lot. I know that some of the Irrigator Pro sprinklers are easier to set up, because I also purchased one on a spike, which has yellow guides that move a little easier--not easily, but better than my super stubborn one. Perhaps there is a trick that I haven't figured out. I am not mechanically-minded. The sled base is nice in most respects; it stays in place and works well. But it is hard to screw on and off the hose because there is not enough space for your fingers.

An excellent, rugged lawn and garden sprinkler
I bought one of these from a local hardware store last year. It worked great. I wanted another, but the stores no longer carried them, so I bought this one from Amazon. Now I can do the front and back lawns at the same time. The best thing about this sprinkler is that it has a gear drive, so it doesn't splash water where you don't want it, the way an impact sprinkler or rotary one does. I can set it up next to my house, even next to open windows, and it delivers water to the lawn and flowers without getting the house wet.It also delivers a LOT of water. If I set it for a full circle, I find it delivers about 0.1 inch of water an hour in a 40 foot radius (80 foot diameter) circle. At a half-circle setting, of course, it delivers 0.2 inch an hour to the ground covered.Another advantage is that the water stream stays fairly close to the ground in large drops and therefore doesn't get blown all over on a windy day.I love it, I have two of them, and I don't expect to need a third one any time soon -- this sprinkler is rugged.
