Ok... so first off, those that say this is sleeping on a rock must have been originally sleeping on 20 year old mattresses filled with clouds. No it’s not melting you in 5 inches and incredibly plush BUT it’s soft. It’s soft but firm. I was freaking out about what mattress to get because I CAN NOT DO FIRM. I’ve had 2 knee surgeries and so I switch positions a lot and firm mattresses make my hips ache. Also, for those who don’t know much about memory foam, the colder the room, the firmer the mattress. As your body warms the mattress it starts to soften around you. Secondly, my recommendation (sorry Amazon) is to use a traditional box frame base. It helps keep a consistentness to the mattress it needs. I had to also do something like this with the memory foam mattresses I got for the kids bunk beds that i bought at a furnature store. In this case I only used plywood because they are lighter. Thirdly, please consider your own weight, as well as that of sleeping with a partner in purchasing a memory foam. Larger people will need firmer, thicker ones to last longer. Finally, the fiber glass issue. If you open your mattress you may have issues so just don’t. If your worried about spills, dirt etc, get a cover. They even suggest it. Also, how many mattresses have you heard of you do this with anyway? Just treat it as a regular one.When I opened the box It didn’t smell like anything but I know that this is common because of the matterial and have had it happen with memory foam toppers but it always went away and was like a fresh paint smell. It opened to size in hours and measured perfectly.It’s tough not to focus on the negative experiences but remember that everyone has different expectations or previous experiences. This mattress was true to its description and if you look in other wedsites, such as wayfare, it gives other reviews. I have used this for a year and a half now when, about a year an a half ago, I created a surprise bedroom space for my wife and I. My budget was limited and we were literally exhausted for using old and hand me down spring mattresses. So I did weeks of research reading reviews and decided to get this for us. We wanted memory foam that was comfortable and supportive and we have a narrow stairway access that limits what can be brought into the bedroom. This comes in a 7 ft long 110 pound box and it's wrapped up in two layers of plastic. Put the mattress in the room you want cut the plastic, which wasn't as nerve wracking as I feared and it opens up and inflates I'd recommend 24 hours minimum for maximum inflation. By inflation I mean that the cells of the foam expand...I don't mean inflate like a air mattress. There is a slight smell but it didn't take long to dissapate.My wife and I really like this and we use it on the floor since I haven't yet built a platform for it. It's very comfortable when you first lay down and then you settle in as your body heats up under you. I sleep hot and have found this to be comfortable in many temperatures. As many others do I also recommend a cover to protect the actual foam mattress. For the price I don't think you can beat this mattress and I've even recommended it to my sister when she was getting a mattress and she likes hers too. My only advice is use it directly on the floor or on a solid platform so that it cannot sag and you'll always be comfortable.

Oh man dude. I freaking love this bed. I have terrible back problems and have for years now, when I moved in with my boyfriend we went to Haverty's and got this beautiful expensive 2000 bed that we just loved. It was comfy and lovely, but our relationship soon became rather unpleasant when I left him one night. So, since the bed we purchased was in his name, I decided to venture out and make the smarter decision of not being in debt over a stupid bed and just getting something more affordable. I still wanted quality, but not the kind that disrespected my bank account.Of course I went to the first place I get everything, Amazon. Upon looking at numerous beds and reading tons of reviews I decided that this bed seemed the best option. Everyone said it was nice, although I was worried it would be too firm because I like soft sinking beds - and I was also hesitant about the thickness and if it would support me well enough.After opening everything up and placing it on my brand new foundation I let it sit for a while. The packaging wasn't all that bad to move and open considering I'm a 21 year old chick with two cats. When I finally wrapped the sheets over it and me and my furry children were able to lay down and test it out I was so super pleased. It was just soft enough but offered a lot of support. The thickness didn't phase me at all, the bed felt amazing and perfectly comfortable. It held me like my ex and his ridiculously expensive bed never could. Even my cats are ignoring their beds to sleep on this one. I recommend this for anyone with back issues or those who just want an awesome, peaceful rest.
