Sugar Daddy Lollipops

This has been my favorite candy since over 40 years ago. I rarely get them because they're not in many stores...I normally grab one or two when we go to Cracker Barrel, since they always seem to have them. Then I thought - Amazon - and voila - they're here! It took 3 days, but only because there was a blizzard that delayed shipment by a day! :-) LOVE these things! I wish they still made Sugar Mamas...does anyone remember those? Sugar Daddy, Sugar Mama and Sugar Babies...it was a whole family affair when I was a kid. :-)A box of 24 - sealed tight. I never knew they are considered a "lolly pop"...they're just "Sugar Daddy" to me. Delicious! I'm a kid again!

I have bought Sugar Daddy 48 count from Amazon before and they were great (except one order seemed like it had melted at some point). I ordered these 28 count ones figuring the larger size would last longer. It was disappointing once they got here because they didn't get soft and flexible. They seemed crystallized and would break rather than stretch out and fold over. Half the fun of Sugar Daddy in my opinion is pulling it out all stretchy and gooey. These didn't. They were edible and tasted good but the texture was all wrong. I suppose it might have been that particular batch, but it will be a while before I order the 28 count again from this company...if ever.

I bought the little ones first, then I bought the large size I remembered from my childhood. I loved them. I cant have these around me because I am weak and will devour them at the rate of 5 or mire a day. If you have good will power, eat to your heart's content. They are very good. I will buy more in 6 months or so. I just know they are my weakness.

Often traveling with my husband over the years, whenever we would stop to gas up the car, I would go into the mini mart an my quest to find Sugar Daddys. I am finding that it is harder and harder to locate any. So I did the next best thing and ordered these. They are perfect. Just like the ones I had as a kid. They taste fresh, are nice and hard, not soft, so that they last time. The flavor is perfect. I am going to savor the taste of each one.

The Sugar Daddy was and apparently still is one of the best suckers/pops of all time. At least I think so. They are also an excellent check for loose fillings. I wasn't sure if the ones I ordered would be the same as existed in the 50s and 60s. They are. Today they may be sealed better but are still the same great tasting caramel. Now if only I could hide them from my grandchildren. ;-)

I bought these for my hubby, who really liked these when we were younger, (I'm not telling my age!).He said, that they were really yummy, just like he remembered, and they were fresh. To me, freshness is what really counts.We have to pay for the dental cleanings, but the treats make it worth it. (so long as it is only the cleanings, be careful of the stickiness, or you'll be paying dental damage bills. (just like we remember).Ooooooh, so good!

These are one of my moms all time favorite treats. I we bought them to make a birthday bouquet for her, but I was disappointed when they arrived because they were already pretty hard and pieces were broken off almost 1/4 of them.

These suckers taste GREAT... but after opening the wrappers, the 'last inch' is nothing but a thin sheet of candy like it was a bubble with nothing on the inside but air. Also, some other suckers have had the top inch cut off accidentally. I could tell this company (which sold it to me), got them at a reduced price because we only get about 3/4 of a sucker and there are 24 suckers in each box.I love the taste of these suckers so in the past I've bought boxes from other companies and have never had this happen before. (as far as the product being under weight)
