Bob and 6 more Christmas stories. 7 more reasons to love Sandra Boynton!
Thank you, Sandra, for another delightful book. Bob and 6 more Christmas stories, brings children (and adults) through many aspects of the holiday season. Filled with the magic of miniature reindeer, parties, gifts we hope for, gifts we hope to give and gifts we hope not to find under the tree! She knows just when to throw in a little silliness or a surprising twist which brings us up to the over excited kid on Christmas Eve and the Christmas Lullaby that will tug the heartstrings of parents and grandparents alike. For those who do not celebrate the reason behind the season, there are no mentions of nativities, wise men or a baby’s birth.I think this is a great book for the 2 yrs to 4 yrs set that probably have vague memories of Christmas past, 5 yrs to 7 years to get that excitement going and young readers who will enjoy reading this book to themselves, or out loud to younger children. I can’t wait to read this to my 2 yr old granddaughter tonight. She has other books that have side tabs and she loves them. This is her first Christmas book this year, I hope it’s just enough to get her little head wrapped around the all the stuff that is going on that she just isn’t getting. If it’s not? We’ll get over it, it’s only 15 days till Christmas!

An instant Classic!
If you're looking for a light-hearted new Christmas classic for your family...look no further that Bob. We discovered this book over 10 years ago when we were actively reading to our son, who loved this author's other silly books. My wife and I fell in love with it and it really bothered us that we couldn't find it in our boxes after a cross country move 2 years ago. When I saw it on Amazon, I immediately ordered it, and a copy for my grand daughter. 7 little stories, put to pen in a sing song style of prose...hippos in boxes...tiny reindeer...telescopes for Christmas...what's not to love? In a hurley burley world where life is hectic and often cruel and boisterous, this really settles the nerves and lightens the heart for the holiday season. Get it! You won't regret it!

Not my favorite Boynton book...
Not my favorite Sandra Boynton book, unfortunately. The tab idea is cute, but since the stories are on two pages, side by side, there’s less room for illustrations (which is what my son ADORES about her other books). The stories are short but seem long when they’re broken up this way. They don’t have as much of a “flow” as some of the other books do, and also have a lot of repetition. My son is 17M and I am looking for ways to get him excited about Christmas (it’s November already). We read Spookie Pookie for Halloween and he LOVED it, so we also bought the Merry Christmas Pookie book and will probably get more use out of that one. Thanks for reading! I hope this was helpful!! 😉

like books within a book if that makes sense
This description is kind of misleading. There are 7 stories total...but they're short stories. Stories cover two pages. I was thinking that this was one of those books with lots of stories, but longer stories...like books within a book if that makes sense.None the less, my toddler loves all these stories by Sandra Boynton. We own almost all of them because they are simple stories that he can follow and understand, and they are silly!

Best Christmas Book Ever
This is my all time favorite Christmas book. The price was fantastic. I got this for my little nephews for Christmas and even got myself a copy. It's very sturdy cardboard and the book it just so much fun. Entertaining even to an adult!

Love this book
My toddler sits in the back of the car and giggles non stop at this book. I have retired it now until next Christmas but excellent book and I can't wait to get it out again in December.

Not the best of Boynton books
I like only 3 poems out of the whole books. The rest is kind of disorganized/too much words/too little rhyme.I noticed fat shaming in it twice:first - when the female hippo is laughed at while hanging on the bent top branch of a tree (it's looks like she is too heavy for that).Second - again, female hippo wearing bikini is saying "I wish NOT to get a bikini/as a Christmas gift/" with the underlying message that her body is not great for a swimming suit.Really?Disappointed.

This is more like a book of poetry than traditional stories
This is more like a book of poetry than traditional stories, but it is definitely a Boynton book! I love it! It is the perfect first book of poetry for my two kids, and my son loves to read it. The poems are easy to read or sing with a fun (made-up) tune. A new Christmas favourite at our house!
