Failed exam
I read this entire book, took the exam and failed. Get another materialedited:Also, please note it does not include a CD for you to have the PDF version of the book. As I read the other review claiming that the McGraw Hill website has this in PDF version for download is totally false. If I can give it zero stars I would. Thanks lot Mike Meyers!

Fluff but gets the job done...
I’ve been in the IT field for roughly 13 years. My knowledge is based mostly on shortcuts and learning from mistakes. Reading this book had its ups and down. I felt, as a veteran, it has WAY too much fluff. Unfortunately, it’s the fluff in the test so there’s no way around it. Oh how I miss the good old days when tests and materials went straight to the point 🤦🏿♀️

Sufficient for your needs, lacks CD version
First of all, I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of a CD with the pdf version that was available in the previous edition. It is thoroughly inconvenient to take this huge book with me on the go. Otherwise, it's a good book for the exams. There are some minor errors, such as claiming that device drivers are stored in the registry, and that epoxy is coated on motherboards to increase their strength. Such rudimentary mistakes are surprising. But overall it is one of the best guides to help you get your certification. Just don't limit yourself to this one source. Take a little time and look for articles on each topic elsewhere. This will expose you to other bits of knowledge and help the material sink in.

What You Need for the Exam, Translated from Tech-Geek to English with Humor
To the point, funny, and doesn't lull you to sleep like the CompTIA A+ Study Guide, which is very informative if you can stay awake to take in the information. My goal is to assimilate all 27 or so chapters in the next 3 months, then move onto Professor Messer's more dry videos and study materials for the finish. The quick checks at the end of the chapters make you think about what you read, and there's a practical emphasis on understanding, not just memorization. The first few chapters made me feel I just might pass the 1001 - 1002 on the first try if I stick with this. And I'm not so bored I'm getting up to do laundry or mop for a refreshing break like I did with the other guide.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Book is ok ! You can not get any media with it and if you want to access the pdf you have to buy it separately !

Another Hit from Mike Meyers!
This is a great study reference. Mike Meyers once again demonstrates why he is the leader in CompTIA A+ training. I have always recommended the predecessor volumes for the community college and this one is no exception. There is no better single source of information and study out there. The new edition meets and exceeds all of the requirements for the way CompTIA changed to the Core 1 & Core 2 system. Furthermore, it follows the pattern set by the 9th edition by moving all of the additional content from a CD-ROM to the McGraw-Hill website. Instead of having to deal with one more piece of plastic media, I can simply download anything I need.Everyone should seriously consider this as their primary study source.

Going to pass the CompTIA exam
I love this book, it is huge too. It helps me a great deal to understand the components of the PC. There is a product key in the back of the book I didn't know about and it gives free access to the author's videos, interactive simulators, and test. At the end of each chapter, there is a review test. The material is very easy for me to understand and being dyslexic this is very important for me. I know I'll pass this exam!

Amazing Detail. Easy To Understand for Beginners. Best Book on A+ I've Read
I'm making a career change from HR into Networking and aside from a couple of drives I've added and some RAM, have very limited experience working on (repairing) computers. My first stop before continuing on to networking is the A+ certification. I've purchased several A+ study guides and this book is hands down, the best one I brought.Myers splits each chapter into two parts: 1) Historical / Conceptual - where he goes into great detail about the progression of specific technologies, advancements and an in-depth explanation of how each component/device works. 2) he then moves into the Practical stuff that not only is covered on the A+ Exam but it's also the knowledge you'd need if you were working in the industry repairing computers. This book provides a lot of detail and paints a clear picture of the different concepts, technologies and components being discussed. The Figures / Graphics and Photos are also an excellent aid.

A ton of unnecessary information, hard to read.
I wish I knew before I bought this book that there were other better sources for studying. I do not recommend buying this book, way too many words. Not clear, especially when this is aimed at entry level.I recommend Professor Messer's videos on youtube

Outstanding
Makes learning computers seem easy. Clear and concise tuition with a little humour thrown in to lighten the study load. Highly recommended.

great book by a fun author
Great detailed book and easy to understand. If you can check out Mike Meyer's videos too. Very amusing and I found them both a big help in getting my A+

Mike Meyers to the rescue.
Doing CompTIA, but video tutor rambles and skips some important stuff, have read glowing reviews about this Author, so hopefully his in depth coverage will fill my knowledge gap, huzzah.

Amazing book
Just started reading it. And the author has a great sense of humour which could turn a long tedious book into a fun to learn one . Love it
