Its built good and it works.
The stainless steel cage design is new to me for a bug zapper. Looks awesome. I think it will survive a tornado or hurricane if not crushed and bulb broken. However the Online directions are a bit sketchy. You have one switch. Off in the middle. Light to the Right. Trap to the Left. (ps I just heard it ZAP as I'm writing this no kidding. I'm upstairs in the house with bedroom window open. Its down there about 40 feet nailed to the corner of the shed. Zapped again). The Light switch is as if you want to use it like a lantern. (Zap again) Not really strong enough. Doesn't attract bugs this way. (ZAP) Next day I flipped it over to Trap. I now glows purple and works so wonderful. It seems to power up all day in the sunlight and stay on all night glowing purple zapping about every few minutes.I was looking intently at the solar brands as I wanted to place them out in the yard away from the house and deck to attract the bugs that way, not toward me. I'm in awe of it and plan to buy more. Take the brush provided and sweep the bugs off the cage. If they fall onto the steel deck wind clears them off easily. I think birds are coming in also and eating the dead bugs that fall off underneath it.I'm going to buy more of these and other brands too. Whichever works the best will be all out on the creek bank of the property keeping the skeeters occupied out there.

I didn’t work—twice!
My first unit arrived quickly and I set it up on my deck once it was charged. It work OK the first few hours, but eventually stopped working. I theorized that I had not sufficiently charged it so I plugged in for the next day and a half. After charging it, I turned it on, but it would not work. I returned the first unit to Amazon and received the replacement unit very quickly. To make sure the unit was fully charged, I left it plugged in for over 24 hours, during which the charging indicator went from red to green. I placed it on my deck and turned it on to zap. Since it was still a bit light outside I was not surprised to see the charging light turn red and figured it was charging via the solar panel. When I checked the unit after dark, it was not on and did not work at all. I will be returning the second unit and will not take a third chance. It is notable that there were no instructions with either unit, and logging in to their web page did not yield any instructions.

GREAT PRODUCT
GREAT PRODUCT!!!!! I took it outside and within 10 minutes it has zapped at least 20 insects. 🦟🦟 so satisfying to hear those nasty mosquitoes 🦟 being ZAPPED!!!!! This product is worth the money and can be charged via solar or electric 🙂. Can’t wait to take the bug zapper with me on my camping trip. 👍🏻🦟⛺️🏕

It didn’t work
I got this in the mail 3 days ago and it came with no instructions jus in a box I call myself plugging it up first cause that little light was red that took half a day then I turn it on and put it out side nothing happened so then I thought well maybe the solar panels needs a charge so I set it outside for 6 hours of beaming sun directly n the sun so the little red button finally turned green so I left it out side until night since I knew it would hold 40 hours nothing never happened I think this one is defective I will return it very disappointed

Love the Dual Purpose light, and the solar option.
I love this bug zapper, indoors or out. Solar panels work great and allow for several hours of use. I also really like the fact that you can use the purple light to attract the bugs, or switch to using a brighter light like a lantern.

really kills the bugs
I bought two and put one in front yard, and one in back. This machine is great because we don't have to plug it in. We can hear it working each night in the front and back yard. It makes a loud popping sound as it obliterates the insect. Love the solar feature, don't have to mess with it. The lizards have figured out it doesn't zap during the day so they can eat the bugs it killed the night before without getting electrocuted.

Lost reflecting mirror, Not bright to attract bugs after six months
Bought three. The power is weak and batterys last about 5 hours. The mirrow reflection has fallen off. And tarnished, causing it not to be bright and no longer attracts the bugs.
