Master Tailgaters Replacement for GM Express/Chevrolet Savana Cargo Van (2003-2016) Brake Light Backup Camera

My husband purchased this camera for my 2008 Chevrolet express van. The first thing he noticed is the grommet that goes into the hole in the body for the wiring is too small to fit the factory hole so he had to modify the old one to work.When he proceeded to install the camera the tabs were too big and broke off. He worked and got the camera installed only to find out the 3rd brake light didn't work (come to find out it is only a camera and not a 3rd brake light also). He ran all the wires and the camera works but he had to use RTV to seal around the camera because of the poor fit.We contacted the seller and they agreed to send us a new camera. We waited almost two weeks and did not receive a new camera. We contacted the seller again and he said that he would look into it. Our last communication from the seller was on 8-30 when he said he was looking into the problem. Still no resolution.

Easy to connect your company needs to invest in designing a rubber grommet that is the same size of the oem so both sets of wires go through . I had to use the original brake light wires (the connector was different) I cut a hole in the original grommet put the video cable along with the brake light wires filled grommet with silicone sealer after that it took less than 5 min to install the light . Made my connections.I found your wiring instructions confusing. Heres how I think you should write them. Show a schematic yellow to video input white not used red to power /with key on and ground. You can use the # 26 fuse (aux trailer)for the trigger of your after market devices on let the unit it’s in reverse. I hope this helps you have a good product. The image quality is excellent . Backup camera and housing seem well made, brake light LEDs brighter than stock 912 bulbs. Field of view is good, from the rear bumper to about 15' out. Overall good purchase. Would buy again. Might save a couple of bicycles in the driveway.... and now my wife can back into the garage without worry.

worked good for 3 months and stopped working. I’ll be forced to buy another one and actually waterproof seal it better myself

Let me first off by saying I'm no car guy but I know electrical and this back up camera I installed myself on my 2012 Chevy Express 2500.I ran the video cable from front to back with relative ease. The camera fitment was PERFECT to the OEM 3rd brake light. I connected the video cable to the adapter it comes with which plugs I to your video in on your reciever. The red port is power not to be confused with left or right channel audio because the adapter has video and white connections. This slightly confused me a little when I first opened the contents. Once I ran the power and ground to the REVERSE LIGHT, the camera turned on flawlessly. Dont forget to connect the head unit to the reverse lights also the head unit recognized when the truck was in reverse and every was working great.My only only concern were the directions. They were not very specific and someone that may want to do it themselves would not be able to because of lack there of. My experience helped me but the average consumer might have difficulty. Hopefully this review helps prevent any headaches. Good luck its WORTH IT
