DJI OSMO Action – Dual Touch Display Waterproof Digital Action Camera with 4K HD Video 12MP Photos Live Streaming Stabilization (128GB Memory)

After owning 4 GoPros over various generations, the DJI Osmo Action blows them all away.Pros:1: There is NO FISHEYE. The video aspect ratio and codec are very good, for an action camera.2: The rear screen is very bright3: The stabilization is the best on the market, as this review is written.4: The build quality is very solid.5: It is waterproof, without the need of an extra case6: Obviously the front screen. It works very well with less than 1/2 second delay.Cons:1: The accessories it comes with are pretty much useless. (However, the "twist to unlock" design is fantastic) We ended up using GoPro accessories.2: The new firmware said that you could tap and switch the screens while recording, but it failed to deliver this functionality on this camera.3: No HDMI output... If you want to live-stream direct to the computer, this capability does not exist.4 The phone software sucks, period.5: The configuration options are pretty limited.

Absolutely AMAZING, and got couple extra things from seller DJI doesn’t give you. Here’s the deal I had a job coming up in 72hrs, ordering from DJI direct wouldn’t get it in time. Let me get on Amazon, found an authorized dealer. Got it when I was supposed to no issues at all, will definitely be checking this sellers other items out. Oh sorry back to the product, I’ve had GoPro for many years and wished someone would compete, when DJI came out with these I thought here we go, well they are much better then GoPro. I have 6 of them and don’t regret giving away allMy other ones, not sure I guess I’m lucky all the complaints about these have no issues at all and my business depends on high quality video and they meet the bill!

This thing works great for underwater (it's been in the ocean and the pool many times) and really any shots, except maybe extremely low light. The video is very nice and smooth. I didn't really notice a real issue with battery life, but I got the 3 battery charger with two additional batteries. I mostly shot 4K 30FPS and got some great videos. It's on par with the latest GoPro in my opinion. I can't stress how much I love the front facing screen. It should be the new normal for action cameras. All in all, this is a very nice action camera that will fit in your pocket. After all, the only good camera is the one you have with you.

I had been looking at action cams for some time now and when I heard about the RockSteady feature (in-camera stabilization) of the DJI Osmo Action, I checked out every review I could find and then finally made the purchase. My primary use for this cam is Kite Aerial Photography and have successfully tested it out many times at the atlantic ocean. RockSteady performs better than expected, even though the wind tends to move the kite around more than what can be stabilized but the video is still exceptional. I also used the Osmo Action cam to make very long (8 hours +) 4K time lapses that turned out great.

The Osmo Action has been excellent so far. The slow motion, time lapse and rocksteady features work great for special shooting situations. The front facing screen has been a great addition that allows for optimal framing for fishing pictures on the kayak, and when coupled with voice control it makes the images so easy to capture. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great action camera.

Outside it looks great, but functional speaking not so much. First, it has the lag between real and recording on screen. Secondly, you have to stop recording in order to change screens between front and rear. Third, not good in low light situations. Fourth, stabilization is poor and not as advertised.
