The last time we were at the beach I broke out my standard beach umbrella. You know, the one you can buy on the boardwalk or any store at the beginning of summer. As I opened it I noticed it had seen better days, but it jammed it into the sand and went about setting up the rest of my gear. The wind kicked up so much that day that I spent most of my time either holding it the umbrella in place or flipping it right side out. When we packed up to leave I threw it in the trash right on the beach and began my quest for the perfect umbrella. One that would hold fast in the sand and would not flip inside out because of the wind. Well, I can tell you with 100% certainty that this umbrella fits the bill and then some.First of all it comes with a convenient carrying bag. I can throw it over my shoulder and still have my hands free. It's lightweight, yet sturdy. Setup is easy. It anchord into the ground fabulously. The attached metal rod gives you the leverage to dig the screw-like end deep into the sand. That baby isn't going anywhere. The umbrella itself is HUGE! I love it! The vents at the top allow air to flow through, preventing the whole inside out umbrella. There is a tilting function as well so you don't have to move it all over the place as the sun moves. This umbrella is so amazing that every time we set it up we comment on what a great purchase it was. If you think all beach umbrellas are the same you are sadly mistaken. If you think it's a little much for an umbrella then do the math for the times you will have to replace the junky ones. You will see this one is well worth the investment into you time and sanity.

Great umbrella. picked it over the sport-umbrella because the post is stronger and it had the screw-in tip to secure the post deeper. wide umbrella. good materials. tilts. adjusts up and down. stood to strong winds. This particular day, several pop up tent blew away, our umbrella was fine.Update: 7/16/2019. I surf and am at the beach a decent amount. Also bring this camping in the woods. This has been my go-to for shade for my family. It is light weight, compact, easy to carry pouch. It is very durable in strong winds, the anchor is legit. It screws down deep into the sand and dirt. The screw tip is solid plastic and has not broken down after 4 years. I hang my backpack, towels, food in the umbrella uprights. They are sturdy, well placed and plastic coated. The fabric is thick and protects us from the sun. It also does not make static that dirt and dust cling to. The rainbow colors help me locate my spot so I don't drift with the current. I have gotten many complements from people with cheaper umbrellas that fly away or get upended. All-around one of my best purchases and always part of my outdooring gear set.

I purchased this to use at a lakeside beach in the Adirondacks. Very pleased so far. It's attractive, and the canvas seems to be good quality. The aluminum pole is sturdy, and I like the fact you slide the bar into the holes to serve as a handle for the auger. The pole was very easy to twist into the sand using the handle, and I was able to get it quite far down with minimal effort. Held nice and firm on a gusty day. The handle stays attached to the pole with a chain, so you can't lose it.The carry bag is a nice red nylon bag with an over-the-shoulder carry strap. Easy to get in and out of the bag, light when carrying.The 16 ribs held their own on a gusty day, when other beach goers had their umbrellas invert. The umbrella is large and provides good shade. There is a tilt feature which I have not used.If I had to question anything, it is whether or not the plastic parts (umbrella top, the connectors holding the ribs and spreaders together, the snap lock for the pole, etc.) will last over time. We shall see. But so far I am quite pleased and would recommend it.

UPDATE: the company contacted me right away and after sending them pictures of the defective umbrellas, they did give me a full refund.I purchased 2 of these beach umbrellas almost 5 years ago and they were THE most amazing umbrellas EVER. Worth every penny. We literally used them daily, every summer, for 5 years.It was time to purchase more for our cabin, so I went back to the exact same link as our previous umbrellas. The purchase price was quite a bit more expensive than when I bought the same product 5 years ago, but I wasn’t concerned at all about the price increase because the previous umbrellas were so amazing , I knew they were worth every penny.....well, The two new umbrellas came a couple of weeks ago...I could tell they were a little bit lighter in weight and felt a little flimsier than the amazing umbrellas I had purchase from this same company before...but I was still hopeful they’d be at least functional. I was WRONG, we got both umbrellas out to use today, not even at the beach or lake, just in our yard sandbox to see how they worked...they both broke within 5 minutes! The wind was not blowing. Both the elbows at the top of the umbrellas broke the moment we touched them to adjust, and both of the stakes broke as well while we were twisting them into our sandbox (our sand it not compact or hard, it has just been freshly tilled for spring). I can’t even express how disappointed I am at the quality of these new umbrellas!! I want the old models back please!! I have contacted customer service and will update this review if I hear from them on how they will resolve this issue. So so sad...

Great umbrella!!

The size is great and the ability to tilt is useful if you are in one spot for a long while and the sun moves. I find the pushing of the button to keep it open when setting up or again when closing it at the end of the day a little tricky (hence the 4 starts, but maybe it's just me). Most umbrellas I saw on the beach were 5 or 6 feet and the size/pattern of this umbrella made it easily visible by family members on the way back from the water.

We were looking for an umbrella that would secure into the sand really well. When I saw that this item had a very large anchor screw, I was excited to order it. When it arrived and I opened it, I was so disappointed. It looked nothing like the photo, the screw was so small. There was no way that this umbrella would stay in the sand. The structure was poor as well. The material started to rip, the rips were plastic and the pole was flimsy. We returned this item.

The umbrella design is fine, but the "screw in" feature really cannot handle the weight of the umbrella. The screw Itself really needs about 4 more inches of length to handle the weight of the umbrella. In other words, it needs to go deeper into the ground. I find myself having to hold the umbrella as it falls over in a light wind. Unless they are willing to ship an improved screw to me at no cost, i really cannot recommend this product. Its a lot of money to spend for a weak base.

Very satisfied with the purchase. Product was as shown on the website. Great buy. Have been using it regularly. Sturdy and withstands moderate winds. Never had the chance to try it in strong winds so cannot comment on that yet. Love the colors and the make up of the unmbrella.
