iFertracker - Smart Fertility Tracker

- read bad reviews still decided to use, alongside CB monitor and cheap OPK better than spending twice the amount on digital temp monitors that only measure oral or vag in morning- after TTC for 9 months I wanted accurate data, was sick of unreliable oral BBT results. The last thing you need to do is be continually putting effort into interpreting questionable results- I sometimes move or cuddle my husband before I wake, and I like to pee or drink when I wake, all ruining oral BBT and with iFertracker I can do all these without it affecting my BBT- $150 even with the $40 for 60 sticky patches is value for me to know my O day exactly and it predicted O day 2 days before- my cheap Easy@Home OPK was positive on ovulation the day before my temp rose, plus I had ovulation pain, the next day iFertracker showed a steep BBT rise confirming ovulation- my ClearBlue monitor predicted first peak day 1 day after cheap OPK and iFertracker making the ClearBlue monitor uselessI have experienced some of the issues bad reviews mention, however I was able to fix them:- battery was fine after 30+ days of use- I had an error one night and was upset I didn’t get a BBT, however I did not know that the iFertracker stores the last 10 nights of BBT, the next night it worked fine and I got previous day BBT- a second time I had an error for 3 nights in a row, worried I was near O day I took out the battery and put in a new one (no notification it was low) and it still had error, and then the app froze while trying to connect to the tracker even after close-reopening the app. - I then disconnect tracker from app, deleted the app, reinstalled the app and it was still frozen, I kid you not. I wore it again that night and it worked the next morning with all the missing nights informationMy experience in depth:Prediction Feature not advertised, but very useful!I’m not sure why this device isn’t advertised differently, it doesn’t aim correctly at women who want this for BBT for fertility. This feature should be advertised! Even if it works better for some than others. I hadn’t even read about it in the book or online.I forget what data is initially entered, I think it's only average cycle length and start day.I started using it on d3 (cycle day 3) last day of my period, my temp dropped significantly and remained low until O day. The 3 very low temps puzzled me, however I check my calendar (I record sleep, drinks etc) and found those 3 days I had unusually late nights (only 3-5 hours sleep), was up hours later than usual, and ate a lot more sugary food and meat (I usually don't eat meat or sugar) which seem to disrupt my sleep. This accounts for the lower temps, in fact in the manual it says you need to wear the device for 4 hours, I cheated and slept for 3 hours then wore it an hour awake so I could get a result. I would say that’s so you know you get into deep sleep, the same kind of sleep you have on other nights so you can actually compare accurately.I could easily see the steady decrease in temp and the device came up with a prediction 2 days before my O day that my O day was in 2 days! I was very surprised that it was accurate, I didn’t know about this feature. Are you using a good algorithm? Any machine learning? That would really be an excellent way forward to increase the uniqueness of this product, help with interpreting and predicting BBT and the relation to phases in a woman’s cycle. There would be a great way to offer something that us currently not being offered in any other fertility product.One other note about the sticky patches:I tried what I thought was a good double sided tape to reduce the cost of matching patches, it left so much sticky residue on it. The patches used to come off cleanly and easily.Before thinking about the type of plastic this product is made from I used a little natural nah polish remover to get sticky residue off and although it worked I ruined the glossy finish of the product, not that I care about the looks but then it made the double sided tape stick even more. I ordered the matching patches and now they stick, instead of coming off super easy. I would suggest just stick to the expensive patches!Improvements for Developer- BBT Chart has date but not the cycle day- problem freezing- no combined shipping for patches is annoying fro those who have long cycles, 1 pack does not do 2 cycles for most women, especially if we put some on wrongSalesYou could really do a lot more to sell this tracker in a more personal, informative way. It sells as cold, distant, medicalised - when my own use of it has been good, though only because I am excellent at interpreting the features for myself. For the average woman I can see how they are not using this well, or getting the help and support they need.Please hire a woman who has been through infertility, and has personal experience in knowing how the average woman needs help to use the device, app, and interpret.Average people do not have the best analytical skills and with some help I could see many women getting help with their cycles for fertility making a huge difference. Now that’s a market for more profit and the better product.

**UPDATE: All of my review still stands, but I found some ways to make use easier by buying the batteries and adhesive elsewhere. I think this unit comes with the cheapest battery in existence (quality) because I have bought other brands on Amazon and they last months. I bought the type of adhesive tape that is used to stick to clothing and to your skin to hold clothes in place. They are very cheap (priced) and work a lot better than the ones they recommend you use on the product. Since I have found batteries that last and adhesive that works and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I am much happier with the product.Pros: small, lightweight, sticks well without falling off, app helps you pinpoint your cycle with amazing precision.Cons: I've used it for about two weeks and the battery is already too weak to sync to the app. The adhesive leaves a very mild, but annoying rash(that goes away quickly. I alternate which side I wear it on and that helps). I'm afraid that if it's linked to my phone overnight while attached to me I'll be getting radiation, which is a very scary place to get it (armpit/breast area) However, I don't know that it's the case; it just worries me. There is a way around it: turn off Bluetooth on your phone while it's on you, but that gets annoying to do all the time (constantly turning it off and on each day) The replacement adhesives are beyond ridiculously priced on here so I'm going to try to use double stick tape.Overall, I think it's too overpriced for what it delivers.

UPDATE: My initial tracker was replaced because it would have a dead battery daily. Great.But now, after 3-ish weeks, the new tracker will not connect. I have done all the obvious steps to try and remedy this such as changing the battery, deleting and reinstalling the app, verifying my bluetooth is operational, restarting the phone, restarting the app.... nothing is working and I haven't been able to connect for 3 days. This device is extremely frustrating to say the least. When it does work it is great. But for having only owned the item a little over a month and have already had it replaced and now the new one isn't working... it just seems like a lot of hassle. It is not reliable.The monitor is easy to use and so far seems to be working great! Was easy to sync up and the app seems to be okay. Very simple, but easy to use.Two stars for the abysmal battery life. I've had the monitor not even a week and am already on my 3rd battery, That is ridiculous. Would be a far superior product if it was one that had to be recharged.
