Once Upon a Potty For Her

This DVD is great!!! I highly recommend. I purchased both DVDs, "Once Upon A Potty For Her" and "Once Upon A Potty For Him". I had been trying to potty train my son's triplets off and on for 6 months, a boy and two girls. Trying to potty train triplets has been quite an exhausting and frustrating experience for me. I tried everything from having them read books while they were sitting, to running the water from the faucet to get results. My grandson wanted nothing to do with using the potty chair before getting these DVD's. I couldn't get him to sit for more than 30 seconds. One of my granddaughters was doing OK off and on, but not ready for big girl undies. I can't believe the results obtained after watching these DVDs the first day. They enjoyed them so much, we must have watched them half a dozen times that day. One of my granddaughters went almost all day with only 1 accident. My grandson was actually wanting training pants by the second day. We watched the DVDs at the beginning of each day. I can honestly say by the end of the week we achieved success with two out of three. Boy, is that gonna save my son some $$$ not having to buy so many diapers! They still get diapers during nap time and when they go to bed at night, but I see that coming to end soon since they are beginning to wake up dry. My second granddaughter marches to her own beat and does things on her own time table. After about 2 weeks she finally started coming around. I wish I had known about these DVDs 6 months ago.

My twin girls were showing signs of needing to be potty trained pretty early. I held off for a bit and waited until they were closer to 2. I had a previous Elmo potty training video from my son, which he didn't like and neither did my girls. It was too long and didn't keep it as simplified as this DVD and book (I purchased both the book and DVD). This DVD kept my twins attention and they loved it. They still ask to watch the "potty song" DVD and book to be read to them. The DVD starts out with a shortened version of the "potty song" and recording of toddlers playing with a potty seat/dancing/crawling/walking. Then it goes into the cartoon version of the book. Which I'm glad in the DVD the potty seat looks like a modern day potty seat. In the book the potty seat is a little out dated and looks like the old time pot with handle, but otherwise they're the same story. Then the DVD ends with the full version of the potty song again. It's short enough that it doesn't bore them, but long enough and entertaining to have them want to sit and watch the DVD. Perfect! I can only imagine that the boy version is just as good.

My daughter just turned two and we have been starting to warm her up to potty training. She had no interest at all. My friend who has 6 kids loves this DVD and recommended it. I purchased this about 2 weeks ago. My daughter and I watched the movie together and afterward we opened up her new potty together. Thereafter, my daughter started pointing to the TV and saying "potty" so I would play the DVD for her and have her sit on her new potty like Prudence does in the DVD. We also started singing the potty song. I'm thrilled to tell you the big event happened last night!! I'm just so proud of her!! I really think this DVD helped her put 2 and 2 together plus different things such as showing her the big potty, having her flush it, singing the song and basic encouragement. The turning point came after we started watching this DVD though so I'm giving it 5 stars!!

My daughter is a visual learner and watching this she took off her pull up and sat on the potty for the entire movie and then asked to watch it 4 more times. she went to the potty all night long with only one accident. it has been two days since we got our copy and she loves it just as much as she did the first time. she has had only 4 accidents a day since then and that's because she was trying to do the potty dance along with the commercial and didn't sit down in time. I would recommend this movie and "go potty go" to anyone! they have worked wonders along with the pull ups potty dvd. the real stories on that have helped in more ways than one. My daughter knows that this box of pull ups is the last and has a count down til it's time for Dora and Tinkerbell panties! WONDERFUL MOVIES AND VERY HELPFUL

Five stars because: The book was written in 1990-something so I was potty trained with the book, as were my sisters, I've potty trained four kids with it, and now I give it to all of my nieces/friends kids as part of their first birthday present. The movie is annoying as HECK, but it gets your kids super into potty training, which is what you want - because diapers are too expensive! Buy the book/movie/training toilet/underwear and settle in for the most annoying weekend of your life, followed by the bliss of never changing a diaper again.

When I first viewed this video with my 2-1/2 year old I thought it rather silly, and thin on information for my toddler (the cartoon for children lasts a mere 5 minutes or so). But then my daughter asked to watch the video two more times. After the final viewing she immediately asked to use the potty. She proceeded to spend the rest of the day, and the next day using nothing but the potty. This was a remarkable turnaround for a child who used the potty sporadically at best up to that point. I have two criticisms which still stand, despite my daughter's new found potty success. First, the doctor interviewed in the video says that the average age for potty training is 2-1/2 years old, yet the vast majority of children shown during the potty song appear to be 18 month old or younger. Secondly, "Prudence" is shown throughout the video with a top on, but wearing no pants. Undoubtedly this how most parents get their children to start using the potty. But it would have been a good idea to also show Prudence learning how to pull down her pants to use the potty, representing the next stage of successful potty training.

Bought this because the little boy DVD was perfect for my son and wanted the girls version for my daughter. Very informative to them of what is going on with their bodies.
